Happy Fathers' Day!!!

It was Fathers’ Day this weekend. I made a special Fathers’ Day card for Dadi by imprinting my little hand prints in 3 colours (yellow, green and brown) on a card with a cut-out heart shape in the centre. I insisted on presenting it personally to Dadi on Saturday night. Dadi was quite pleased with my art-&-craft and he also couldn’t help lamenting that the world is so unfair in the attitudes and behavior towards Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day. Well, that’s kinda of true cos Momi got a bookmark, 2 pieces of chocolate chips cookies and an accessory for Mothers’ Day, while all Dadi got was a (well, he used the term “pathetic”) little card. Hee hee!!! Guess that’s life and I have to be prepared for this when I become a Dad next time.

To celebrate Fathers’ Day for Gong Gong, we went for a delicious mushroom hotpot at Kallang stadium on Sunday. The meal was fully paid for by DJJ, thanks so much!!! It was yummy and I polished off almost one bowl of rice by myself leh. Momi and Dadi were so impressed with me, but of course, I did waste a few grains here and there lah, along the journey from the bowl to my little mouth. I also finished off half a bowl of herbal soup, much to the surprise of Momi cos I would usually reject anything with funny-tasting Chinese herbs. Guess the amount of herds in the soup base was mild and it was delicious and sweet due to the amount of mushrooms added to the soup. Of course, I did not survive alone on rice and soup lah. I had a little minced chicken & mushroom, diced cod fish and carrot added to my rice. It was a very fulfilling experience for my tummy. It is a restaurant which I would definitely go back again.

Of course, I need to work off those calories after a heavy meal. There was a playground right outside the restaurant. Although the slide was wet due to an earlier drizzle, I had Momi wiped-dry the place so that I could slide.
After the playground, we made our way to the bridge behind the restaurant where we took a stroll and enjoyed some lovely sea breeze. The 2 lovebirds – XJJ and XJJJ gave me the best surprise by producing a kite to fly in the open field!!! Yeah!!! Haha!!! My XJJ so romantic ah!!! He always standby a kite in the car to bring XJJJ to romantic spots to fly kite. :p Although, it was my second time seeing people fly kite, it is the first time up close and personal for me, where I could actually tug the string and make the kite fall down instead of fly up. Yah, I was more of a hindrance then a help. Anyway, the string was soon plucked away from my little hands cos the adults were scared that I would cut myself. I had great fun jumping around in the field and trying to catch the kite, esp when it nose-dived. I would clap my hands and shout “Come down! Come down!!!”.

Your Cute MRT Tour Guide

Hi, folks. Let me be your MRT tour guide for the day. Come, join me.

See this track on the ground. It is to help the visually-handicap people find their way around in the MRT station. If u are lost in the station, just follow this track, ok? It will either lead u to the ground level or to the MRT train platform, depending on where u want to go.

Nah, let me demonstrate. U simply walk on the track. Simple as that.

If somebody stops u and ask u to pose for a picture (Just like in this case), just put on that mega-watt smile. Who knows? U may be talent-spotted for some colgate commercial.

If u need to use the lift, please remember to be considerate and hold the button for the needy and elderly ok. Graciousness is a virtue.

Dunno which station and which route to take? There's always the helpful directory around in the MRT platform. Just go and take a look and u can zip your way thr the NE, NS and EW lines in a breeze.

That's it, folks. I hope you have enjoyed your tour of the MRT station from your wonderful MRT captain - Ramerez. Have a good day!!!

Hugs & Kisses

When Momi picks me up everyday, she would make sure I say my "good-byes" to all my teachers and friends. For my dearest teachers and friends, I would even throw in a hug and a kiss. However, Momi had given strict instructions that I could only HUG the boys and girls. If I want to kiss any of the girls, I must ask for permission first. Why huh??? I guessed it was that day I tried to kiss Shameer after I gave him a hug. After that, I tried to force a kiss on Esher and she was not keen to give me one. :p

Anyway, from now on. No kisses for the boys and men, except for the following privileged few, i.e Dadi, Gong Gong, Ye Ye, JJ and XJJ. As for the important females in my life, Momi said I am free to drown them with my hugs and slobbery kisses. Hiak Hiak!!! So, I "bu ke qi" le. I will muacks Momi, Nai Nai and Po Po with my kisses.

Code Name - B1

Hi, folks.

Have not been hearing from me for a looooonnnnnnngggggggggg time, yah? Momi has been so busy that she had no time to update my blog. I think hor... it is a matter of time she is going to stop blogging totally.... She is too stressed with work and with me. :p

Anyway, I have recently been code-named B1. Not the B1 and B2 from Banana-In-Pajamas hor. B1 for Baby No.1. Momi has been prepping me for B2, i.e. Baby No.2 and she is sounding me for my preference over a Di-Di or a Dek-Dek (Mei-mei). How can???!!! I'm not ready!!! I still want to co-sleep with Momi and get hugged and carried like a wee BB.... Anyway, when Momi asked me if I want a Di-Di or Dek-Dek, I would tell her "Dun want cos Di-Di/ Dek Dek cry cry.". Actually, that is a lousy excuse cos I cry cry too.... If B2 really comes along, I think I want a Di-Di. Another little boy to play with and the 2 little boys could team up with Dadi to bully Momi. Hiak hiak hiak.....

Happy Mother's Day

It is Mother's Day this weekend and the school helped little kids like us plan a surprise for our dearest Mummies. Of course, the daddies are also involved in this surprise. Well, at least my Dadi did. He came up with 10 bucks to pay the school to get the materials for me to put together an accessory for Momi.

Here are the stuff I presented to Momi this evening:-
- 2 pieces of chocolate chips cookies baked by moi (of course, with some help from my teachers lah.) Good or not??? Of course lah!!! I sampled one after the baking leh. First attempt bake Ai Xin cookies for Momi, sure must QC QC one mah...
- 1 pretty bookmark with a beautiful red flower for Momi. Painted with my fingers ok. Ramerez's exquisite finger art.
- 1 accessory for Momi to tie to her bag or her handphone. It speaks of my love for Momi.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOMI!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Happy Birthday to You!!!

After 6 weeks in school, I have learnt to sing the birthday song liao. What to do?! Almost every week got one birthday celebration with birthday cake to eat and song to sing. I tried my singing on Dadi first and he could actually make out what I was trying to sing. Hee hee! First few attempts were gibberish, but by the next day, I could sing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" quite clearly. Yeah!!! I hope my singing would earn me a bigger slice of cake. :p

Hee hee!!! The cows are back again, just outside Outram Park MRT station. Went for my 2nd review at SNEC and saw the cows when we were going back. I lurve them!!! So colourful and vibrant. Momi wanted to bring one home but cannot cos the cows are placed under surveillance cameras. Try to move it a little?! The Police uncles will come and get u. So, dun even think about it....
I was waving and saying "Moo-Hi" to Charlie Chaplin Cow.

Marilyn Monroe Cow in her classic white dress and bling bling... Oops!!! The wind blew up her skirt liao!!! So pai-seh!!! Shame shame!!! Let me help u with the skirt lah.

Cool Bruce Lee Cow. He is ready to kick-ass cos he lifted up a hind-leg. Me??? Dun like Bruce Lee with his signature howl. Run far far away to hide. :p

Settling down to the routine

Time really flies!!! I have been in school for 6 weeks. Sort of settled down to the routine, but I would still try my luck on some mornings by pretending to roll over and continue sleeping when Momi tries to wake me up. I would also refuse to wear the Kinderland uniform and insists on my home clothes. Well, it works sometimes cos my uniforms are not dry and Momi gotta let me wear home clothes. If not, Momi would either change my clothes while I am still asleep or coax me into the uniform by telling me that all my friends are wearing that to school and it would not be nice if I wear home clothes.

Talk about friends, I have made good progress in school. Momi is pleased that I have build up friendship with Lucas Gor-Gor and Nicholas Gor-Gor, who are both in the PN2 class because their birthdays fell on 24 Dec 04. I was only 3 weeks younger than them, but I got enrolled in the PN1 class. Hmmm, pros and cons lah. PN2 got more kids to play with, but they cannot drink milk before afternoon nap. PN1 has only 5 kids, but we get to enjoy our neh-neh cos we are considered the babies. :)

There are 4 boys in my class - Alexander, Shameer, Sean-Sean and me, and one girl-Esher. Esher is the baby as she is only 21 months old. Shameer and I are the Jan babies, while Sean and Alex are the Apr babies. My teachers are Ms Shikin, Ms Begum, Ms Chin and Zhang Lao Shi!!! We love our teachers as they will sing and play with us. Of course, I also make friends with the other Gor-Gors in PN2 class - Joven, Merald, Emmanuel etc. Yeah! School is such a fun place when there are friends to play with. But then hor, I prefers to spend time at home with Momi lah, cos I can terrorise her and play manja with her....

Momi and Dadi have also settled down to the routine. Dadi would try to take the morning train ride with us before he drops off at Doby Ghaut to catch the north-bound train. Momi figured out the best way to send me to school. On good sunny mornings, I get to ride my pram. On wet, gloomy days, I get carried or swaddled into the sarong sling cos it would be easier for Momi to manage the umbrella while she carries me. My schoolbag and bottle goes into her big tote bag or the haversack so that she could carry me. I am a little lazy bummer cos I would insist to be carried during the trips to and forth school. As Momi is also rushing for time, she would not haggle with me for not walking. She would simply pluck me up and whisk me off to school.

After school is another challenge for me. Yes, I want my dinner!!! For the first 3 weeks, Momi was always rushing to get me home before 7.30pm for my shower and (takeaway) dinner. But I was too hungry and would cry and fuss during shower. Ultimately, Momi decided not to give a hoot about Nai Nai's comments about my late shower. She would give me my dinner first, then my shower so long it is before 9.30pm. Of course, I also fussed when I was on the way home in the train. I would ask for food and I would scream and cry if I do not get it. Momi came up with the strategy to feed me at the childcare centre before we leave to take the train ride. It has been built into my routine and I would always ask for food when Momi comes to pick me up. It could be like bread, buns, crossants, biscuits or kueh bolu. Some little snack for me to tahan the train ride back home or to Gong Gong's house for dinner.

It has been a trying period for all of us to settle into the new routine and a new environment for me, but we are finally settling down.

I'm in the "I WANT!!!" stage!!!

Since I started school, I have been picking up fantastic vocabulary. My current favourite phrase is "I want!!! I want!!!". I can utter "I want Momi!!!" so many times in a day, especially during separation time each morning at the school. When Momi picks me up after school, I will keep repeating "I want Momi" and "I want bao-bao (carry)". Yah lor, separated from Momi for a good 8 hours every weekday, sure must make up for it by sticking to Momi like a leech.

I will also ask for my milk, biscuits, rice, noodles, bread and raisins with my persistent "I want!!! I want!!!" and I cannot tolerate slow reactions. "I want!!!" means NOW and it is irritating Momi and Dadi lots.... -_- This is the kinda face that they will show when I am in the "I want" mood.

Oh, Uncle Ringo Carnival shifted to Sengkang liao. It would be there for another 2 weeks (I think). I will also tell Momi and Dadi that I want to see Uncle Ringo from the windows in our flat many many times in the night. :p

Basically, I have formed my own identity now and I am more conscious of myself and my needs and I am certainly not shy to express them! (Although Momi and Dadi sometimes couldn't make out what I want, esp when I am bawling and howling). For the time being, Parrot Ramerez is happily repeating "I want!!! I want!!!" over everything and anything. :p

Ramerez's Fantastic Art Work

This is my artistic piece of work. An orange Easter Egg pasted on a paper bag. I scribbled the orange lines on the egg and tah-dah!!! A fantastic show-piece is done. Best part, there are 4 chocolate eggs in the bag. Momi is not aware cos they are hidden among the shreds of paper. Better dun tell her cos she would confiscate all the chocolate eggs for herself.
Actually huh, I dun quite know how to take care of my art piece. Yah... as u can see, I ripped it apart before the end of the day.... bad bad bad... dunno how to tell pride in my art pieces yet. :p

Sick again... again...

Childcare centre is a place plagued with viruses. I went to school mid-week for 3 days and came down with a fever on Friday night. Given medicine for the fever and recovered over the weekend. However, in the second week, I was down with fever again on wed. Momi was also sick on Thur and Fri. I ended up attended only 3 days school in the 2nd week. By the 3rd week, I was still sick and skipped school on Mon & Tue... Momi and Dadi said I wasted the school fees and they were considering sending me to 1/2 day school on Saturdays to get better value for their money and to sneak off somewhere for their own indulgence, like dim sum breakfast or spa session. Sneaky sneaky parents I have. :p

Anyway, occassional fevers are normal cos my body is reacting to the virus and putting up a fight to build my immunity. Of course, I also got some really nice but heaty food from the centre, such as cornflakes, biscuits and chocolates... ahem!!! So, inevitable that I would fall sick lah. Plus, I also dun drink enuff water.... tsk tsk... Momi has given strict instructions to the teachers to cut down on my intake of biscuits. Shoots!!!

Chill-out at ECP

Dadi got his new posting to an Asst Director post. Some sort of a promotion, in terms of work, but not in pay lah. Anyway, Gu-Po was very excited about the news and Dadi decided to jio Gu-Po, Gu-Die, Ye Ye and Nai Nai to East Coast Tung Lok for a lunch and chill out on the beach. However, Nai Nai went off for Genting on Sun morning and Ye Ye and Gu-Die were too lazy to leave the house on Sunday... ended up only Gu-Po gave face for the lunch. : )

Yikees!!! Don't I look like a jail-bird? Location? The playhouse outside McDonald's lor. Where else? I'm a true-blue McDonald kid leh.

As usual, catching up with my old buddy.

Hugs and kisses for Momi dearest. Muaks muaks!

Enuff of the playhouse. Strutting off to the kid cars area. Just spotted my favourite bus.

My First Day in School

Things happened swiftly in the past few days and "PHAT!!!". I landed myself in school mid week on 21 March. Momi supposedly took 3 days leave to help me settle down in the new environment, but she would quietly sneaked back to her office to clear her work. Yah, her office is just upstairs in the same building as my school. :p

I am now a kinderland kid. Uniform is a white top and green bottoms - t-shirt and shorts for morning and long-sleeved shirt and long pants for afternoon during nap time. I have a cubby hole and a container to hold my personal belongings.

The moment I stepped into the centre, I settled down quickly as there were so many new friends and toys to play with. Of course, with Momi beside me, I am not scared of anything. Momi was secretly very pleased with the way I took to the new environment and was keeping her fingers crossed that I would stay that way for the next few days.

I was not shy at all. I helped myself to the toys and even snatched the toys from other kids. Momi was horrified with my roguish behaviour, but the teachers assured her that I was displaying the usual social behaviour as kids of my age do independent play. Hiak Hiak!!!

That's me. Sitting in a corner in the PN2 class after lunch. I refused to nap while the other kids were napping in the music room. That's Momi, but her face was blocked by the paper plate. This picture reveals Dadi's fantastic photography skills.... Tsk tsk tsk....

My PN1 classroom. My mattress is on the floor but I am too excited to sleep. Momi tried to coax me to sleep but I told her "Let's go out and play!!!". Momi said "No" and I simply told her "I go play myself" and scrambled out of the mattress. :p

My plastic container bearing my name. It stores my toothbrush and toothpaste, pillow, bolster and extra set of clothes. Diapers are placed next to it. BTW, teachers feedback to Momi that my diapers are too big, always hanging loose, ma-chiam going to drop off. I was always lifting my diapers and pants along the way cos they were hanging to low and the top of my butt is shown to the entire world.... (shy shy leh....) Lazy Momi told the teachers "never mind, make do with it". Tsk Tsk.

My chubby hole and my orange Bob Dog schoolbag (Christmas gift from Auntie Shu'Ai)

That's me in my Elmo pyjamas. Kinderland long-sleeved uniform not purchased yet. I was allowed to wear my home clothes. I was holding a plastic banana in my hand.

Climbing up and down... very active. Not sleepy at all. Or, too excited to sleep?

Muahaha!!!! At the end of the day, I was totally bushed out. I slept during the entire MRT ride and during the walk home. Here's a picture of the little piggy snoozing at the end of his first day at school.

Do stay tuned for more updates on my adventures in school. Bye!!!

Fun Time Reading

For a period of time, I was browsing my fave pictorial books, looking for pictures of cake, milk, ice-cream, ball and bus. I was also enchanted with "Snappy Little Splashers" cos it has my favourite pictures of Mr Whale, Jellyfish, Turtle and Mr Anglerfish. Recently, my current storybook is "Little Quack". It is a story about Mama Duck teaching its five little ducklings to swim. I will flip the pages and make up the story myself. My fave duckling is the biggest and brown duckling with five feathers sticking out on his head. Momi called him "Ugly Duckling" and I called him "Uncle". I like to flip to the pages where "Uncle" jumps into the water for his first swim. I also love Mama Duck. Whenever she appears on the page, I would sayang her with my hand and then find Momi to give her a good hug. When I don't see Mama Duck appearing in the pages, I would make up stories about Mama Duck going to the market to do her shopping and I will rattle on about the things that she would buy... qing cai (green veggies), broccoli, corn, carrot, kup kup (pickled vegetable), Yan Yan biscuits etc (basically things that I like to eat).

Ah Wang

Got another DAH hair job on Sunday again. Momi gave instructions to Mr Raymond Scissorshands not to give the botak haircut, just to trim the hair at the sides and back of the head. Mr Scissorshands just let his hair clipper flew all over my head. He really clipped the hair short at the those target areas but a bit too high. Momi commented that I looked like "Ah Wang" with my hair like that and told Dadi to proceed to give me the botak look, rather then get laughed at by people due to the "Ah Wang" look. Muahaha!!! I picked up "Ah Wang" from Momi and went around repeating that. When she asked me for my name, I told her "AH WANG"!!! No more "BANANA".... Momi's face was like this -_-... (with cold sweat at the forehead)... Hahaha!!!

My name is ......

As all of you know, my name is Ramerez (pronounce as RER-MI-REZ). Such a difficult name to pronounce and I certainly have problems pronouncing it as Momi and Dadi have been calling me "Boy Boy" or "Darling" all this while, while the grandparents call me "Jieming" or "Ming Ming". So, whenever people prompt me "What's your name?", I would reply "Ming Ming" or "Boy Boy". However, as I am going to school soon, Momi has been trying to teach me to pronounce "Ramerez". Three syllabus, so difficult to pronounce. That night, while Momi and I went for our stroll after dinner, Momi asked me the question again and I told her my name was "BANANA". Three syllabus and sounded close to "RAMEREZ" (Well, at least to me lah!!!). Momi kept correcting me and I kept repeating "BANANA", much to her exasperation... Muahaha!!! In the end, Notti Momi took advantage of the fun part and decided to name herself after a fruit too. She became "APPLE" and Dadi became "LEW LIAN" (durian). Hahaha!!! Not a wise move cos I registered that clearly and I went around telling people that my name is "BANANA", Momi is "APPLE" and Dadi is "LEW LIAN". We became the FRUIT family. Haha!!!

Day out on 8th March 2007

It is Momi's birthday today. Both Dadi and Momi took the day off, not to celebrate her birthday, but to bring me to NUH for my medical appointment. Final verdict from Dr Ganga? Surgery strongly recommended. Momi and Dadi were reluctant to give the consent on the spot. Think they want to get a 2nd opinion...

Anyway, after the appointment, Dadi and Momi brought me to Suntec City for the IT fair. Wow!!! That place was overwhelmed with people. It appeared as though all the IT products are ma-chiam free for all. I saw people lugging bulky PS3, desktops, notebooks and printers... Dadi wanted to get a notebook cos he gave away our Desktop to DJJ. Momi managed to convince him otherwise cos they hardly use the PC or internet. It would not worth the $$$ as it would be under-utilised.

Haha!!! Whatever $$$ saved from the intended purchase was channelled to a super-duper cool metallic grey and yellow Hush Puppies windbreaker for me. Momi was commenting that it was her birthday but she ended up buying present for other people instead... (Momi bought Dadi a Brun Buffel wallet a week ago....) Momi was also hunting for a handphone for Po Po that day, but she had problem subscribing her 3rd corporate line.

More photos taken at Bottle Tree Park

That's moi relak relak in the wooden chair in the pavillion. Do I look like a little Ah-Beng?

Our family portrait (excluding Dadi cos he was behind the camera)

Po Po and I taking a leisure stroll holding hands.

Notti Momi and I captured in a candid shot. It looked like I was "ah-bishing" her in the face. Muahahaha!!!

Lucas Gor-Gor stays near the Bottle Tree Park... well, at least until he moves to his new house in Hougang. Think the mummies would be jio-ing everyone to go there for a fun-filled day. I can't wait.

Scenic Bottle-Tree Park

It was Gong Gong's 60th birthday and we decided to celebrate in advance on the 14th day of CNY by fixing a lunch at Bottle-Tree Park. Momi recommended the place so that Gong Gong and Po Po could go out gai-gai and take in some fresh air and scenary. She had earlier reccee that place for a corporate event and thought it was an interesting place for both adults and kids, esp the fish pond for kids to waddle and catch their own long-kang fish and the prawning pond.

Check out the scenary below first.

Cheeky pose with DJJ

Riding the giant frog with DJJ

Hugging the huge bottle-tree with help from DJJ

The silly adults trying to hug the bottle-tree. Final verdict? It takes four adults holding hands to form a circle around the tree. Yeah, the trunk was that fat. Me? I just kay-poh and tried to koi-soi with the adults lor.

Running on the pavement.

Riding the buffalo.

Posing in the antique buffalo carriage.

Decided to squat and pretend to erh-erh in the carriage. See the disgusted look on Momi's face.
