Children's Day falls on 1 Oct 2007 and it also happens to be DJJ's birthday. Hapi Birthday, DJJ.
Momi's office has arranged for a special excursion to the Singapore Science Centre and she has signed us up for it. Yeah!!! Heard that there will be colouring competition and some water-play as instructions were given to bring along colour pencils and an extra set of clothes. Yipee!!! I can't wait!!!

As for today, the childcare centre celebrated CD by bringing all of us to the National Museum to visit the Museum and watch some cartoons and short films.

(E)Amal (PG)
Dir: Ali Benkirane

be returning to school anymore. A winner of several international awards including
Special Mention Youth Award at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film
Festival.

Total of 5 short films and it took us about 60 mins. It was quite fun, just that towards the end, most of us got a bit restless. Yah lor, sat too long in the seats le. Luckily the teachers put us on diapers which saved us the hassle of making frequent trips to the toilets during the whole excursion. :)

It's Story Time!!!

Every night, I will ask Momi to tell stories before I go to bed. Yep!!! Stories which she do not have to refer to books. My current favourite is the story about 3 little piglets and the Big Bad Wolf. I am so familiar with the story that I would interject sometimes to contribute to the story. Of course, I also named my 3 little piglets for that added personal touch. Their names are Porky, Pork Chop and Ham. These piglets also have younger siblings, which I named as Bak Pau, Bak Kwa and Bak Zhan. As for the Big Bad Wolf??? He is called the BIG BAD wolf lah!!! What else do you expect from me??? He's the bad guy leh!!! Momi said he has a twin brother who appears in the story of the "Little Red Riding Hood". Haven't heard this story yet. I bet evil twin did not come to a good end either.

Other than this story, I am also familiar with "The Little Ugly Duckling", "The Frog Prince" and "Pinocchio". Actually hor, Pinocchio has been adapted to local context as I named him "Ang Mo Kio". Every time Momi says the name "Pinocchio", I would correct her and say "Ang Mo Kio" instead. :p

I think hor, Momi knows other stories, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella etc. But she thinks these stories are too gu niang and she refuses to tell me such stories. Muahahaha!!! My Momi is so perculiar.

Happy Birthday, Dadi, Ye Ye & Po Po!!!

Dadi and Ye Ye's birthdays fall on early Sep. However, as usual, Dadi kena ICT again. Yes, every year, he spends his birthday in the lousy army camp with no birthday cake and no presents. All he got was canteen food and yucky combat rations. Sigh...

As for me, I have been looking forward to singing birthday songs to them, blowing out the candles and sinking my teeth into the yummy birthday cakes.... but in the end, no cake at all!!! We celebrated Ye Ye's birthday at the restaurant, but it felt like a normal meal lor.

Next was Po Po's birthday on 25 Sep 07 which happened to be Mooncake Festival too!!! But, Momi kena stomach flu and was puking and having LS quite badly that we did not go over for the celebration. Hmmmm, I heard that XJJJ bought a yummy durian cake for Po Po. Hee, never mind lah. I dun like durian cake anyway. I think Momi will make up for it by celebrating Po Po's ang mo birthday instead. Maybe I will get to blow out the candles and cut the cake this time???

Special Guest Appearance by Barney!!!

Barney made a special appearance at the childcare centre this afternoon after he completed his tour at the Spastic Children Centre for its Children's Day celebration. His visit came as a wonderful surprise and you should see how we crowded around him, asking for hugs and taking the opportunity to rub his tummy and hug his legs. We had such a wonderful sing-a-long session with him.

That's me staring up at Barney, up close and personal... Barney, you are SOOOOO big!!!!

Shameer and I posing for a shot with Barney. Oops!!! My eyes were shut leh!!! Hmmm... Shameer looks good in this picture.

See the crowd??? Barney is the Superstar!!!

My DIY Lantern

Going to Childcare Centre is so much fun. Well, we get to celebrate all the major festives and holidays, such as Racial Harmony Day and National Day. Coming next is the mooncake festival. The teachers have requested our parents to bring in the festive goods, such as mooncakes, baby yams, pomelo and little piggy biscuits for us to try out during class. The teachers are also bringing us to Central and the riverside to look at lanterns! So exciting.

Talking about lanterns, Momi and I made a little lantern this year. It is now hanging in the reception area of my childcare centre. It is a cute little octopus, made from recycled materials, such as plastic bowl and strips of orange plastic bag. I helped Momi to paste the orange dots and draw little blue dots (with a marker) on the body of the octopus. It has 2 big googly eyes and a quirky little smile. I like it so much. It is good enough for display. Actually use ah???? Not sure leh, dun think I get to bring it back to put in a candle for the Zhong Qiu Jie. :p

DJJ: Huh?!
Momi: He repeated what I told him earlier to pick the small pieces of fruit lah.

Down with HFMD

Hi, folks.

Just paid a visit to my fave Dr Chee and guess what, he diagnosed that I am down with that dreadful Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease. Darn!!! I came down with a high fever on Thur nite after school and Momi quarantined me at home on Fri. Little red dots developed on my legs, palms and soles in mid afternoon and turned into blisters in the late afternoon. Momi at first suspected some form of allergy, but the moment the blisters started to pop up, she kinda confirmed it was HFMD.

A visit to Dr Chee this afternoon confirmed that it was HFMD and Dr prescribed me anti-viral medication and anti-bacterial mouth spray to stop the development of more blisters. Oh dear, it was shucky to hear that I would not be able to attend school for one week leh...

Momi decided that we should move over to Nai Nai's house for one week so that she could look after me. Well, at least I could spend some time with my Nai Nai. I hope the blisters would pop up anymore cos they are very very itchy *Scratch scratch*
