Chinatown Walk

Went to Chinatown yesterday morning to soak up the CNY ambience. Walked along the way from childcare centre to Chinatown. 7 teachers and 1 mummy (my Momi) accompanied 19 little imps for this outing. Super shiong as we need to climb several overhead bridges and traffic lights to get to the heart of Chinatown, where the festive market is.

We checked out the Bak Kwa store, as well as the souvenir shops and sweet stalls to look at all the relevant festive things and foodstuff. The Bak Kwa store was very nice. It allowed us to see 2 uncles BBQ the bak kwa and let us sample some bak kwa. As usual, I ran away as I do not like bak kwa...

The good thing about class outing is the attention and the treats that come along. A lot of the shop and stall owners found us so cute that they could not resist offering us some samples of sweets, gummy and CNY cookies. Yums!

Some perculiar tourists also treated us as part of their travel itinerary. Like some special sighting in Chinatown. :) They either took our pictures or waylaid us for a posed picture. Poor Yu He even kena a kiss on her cheek, leaving a lipstick stain behind (my Momi thought she was scratched.. -_-!!!)

Momi was busy holding Atticus and my hands. No free hands to take pictures. Will upload once we get the pictures from the childcare centre. Adieu!!!

Good Karma vs Bad Karma

Momi has been preaching to me about Karma. She said if I do not give up my seat (to migrate over to her lap) in the train to old people, pregnant ladies and young children, I would have bad karma. What is bad karma??? Well, she said it has to do with all the bad things, such as other people will not give up their seats to me, nobody loves me, no food, no toys, no happiness, no money etc. Heng ah, so far so good, I have been conditioned to volunteer my seat to old people and other young kids in the train. I kinda consciously look out for them in the train. But sometimes I would make boo-boo too, such as pointing to a man in his late fourties (but got white hair) and called him an old person and tried to offer him my seat... Muahaha!!!

I think the karma thingy is quite true. I have nice people offering me their seats in the train around 90% of the times. Guess it must be my good karma. :) Those people in the buses are less nice. Butts are usually glued to the seats. :p

However, I have not really given my seat to any pregnant ladies yet. Well, to be honest... I am not quite sure if the ladies are really pregnant or just fat. Sometimes, Momi wasn't sure either. She can only tell if the lady is what she termed as "heavily pregnant", i.e. with a very obvious tummy sticking out. So, to avoid any embarassment to either parties, I have not started this good deed yet. ;)

Leh Leh Leh....

I irritated Momi so much yesterday by punctuating most of my sentences with "leh". Although Momi does that sometimes herself (yes, "leh" as well as "lah" and "lor"), she does not like me to talk like that. She said it was too much Singlish and kept correcting me lor. Hiaz... must consciously make an effort to avoid it leh....

Take Stock of My Birthday Presents

Hee! Did not get any big birthday bash this year (then again, I have never had any BIG birthday bash :p)
Celebrated on Fri evening at Gong Gong's house after dinner with my gramps, DJJ and Momi. There was a 1 kg black forest cake and 3 candles for me to blow out. Yums, I had 2 helpings of the cake. On Sat evening, we went over to YeYe's house for dinner and I had a small squarish polar cake with my favourite Thomas the Train on it. Really small cake cos this set of gramps are not in the cake stuff and D&M also had no appetite for the cake. Next on Sun afternoon, I went to BB Shafeesah's 1st birthday celebration and Auntie Sabariah bought 2 small polar cakes for me and Shameer so that we would not fight with BB Shafeesah over her birthday cake. Haha!!! But in the end, we boys kinda fought over the blowing of the candles cos BB Shafeesah was too young to do it. Hee hee!!! In the end, Shameer contributed a generous amount of saliva on Shafeesah's cake. :p

Yeah! Let's take stock of my birthday presents this year.
Ye & Nai - a brand new flashy blue bike (my 2nd bike!!!)
Gong & Po - 2 red packets (confiscated by Momi as usual. She said the money is going into my bank account along with my ang pow money come CNY)
Dadi - 2 storybooks (Finding Nemo & Little Crab Finds His Shell)
Momi - Jigsaw Puzzle, new swim wear, new pants, goggles, arm floats, new cap
Auntie GC - Dump Truck
Auntie Sabariah - 3D Puzzle-cum-Sorter
Auntie Bina - Sticker Book (so nice that Momi saw I could only see and cannot peel out and stick :p)
Auntie Jo - Barney Water Bottle
Uncle Lyon - Mystery Present (Have not seen it)

Not bad for my 3rd birthday celebration leh. : )

Preparations for my Hatch Day

19 Jan is my hatch day. Momi has been asking the school on the usual celebrations in school and was informed that a minimum 3-kg would required to feed all the kids in school... Momi did her sums...
3 kg cake - at least $100 (excl delivery charges)
Party packs - at least $48 ($2 x 24 kids)
Hassle.... TONS (according to her lah. Not me!)

Dadi also warned her against any form of indulgence. He said a small private celebration is good enough. Anyway, Momi assured me that I would get a small cake on Fri night when I celebrate at Gong Gong's house and another cake on Sat night when we go over to Ye Ye's house. Not a bad deal afterall!!! I get to blow candles twice and eat two birthday cakes!!! Yums!!!

Nevertheless, I will still proceed to give my classmates the party packs on Fri. Momi prepared extra packs for me to give to my buddies in the Nursery class - Jovan, Nic and Lucas. Thanks, Mom!

The Dawn of 2008

With the start of 2008, I also "upgraded" myself to the Pn2 class. There are now 21 kids in my class. Expat kid - Alex left Singapore for Japan. There are a pair of Myanmese twins (Than and Han) in my class, as well as a couple more new kids. While it would take some time for me to make friends with the new kids, I am quite glad that my other buddies - Atticus, Shameer and Esher are still hanging around with me.

My class is now known as "Tulip", so gu-niang... Why can't the school name our class - "Bazooka", "Bull-dozer", "Ambulance" or something like that??? Anyway, once we moved up to PN2, we are not allowed to have our milk before our afternoon nap. Sigh... We are also going to have more enrichment classes, such as Art, Music and Speech & Drama in school leh... Sigh... that means we have less time to play at the palyground le.....

For the start of the year, there was a bit of a false alarm too. Momi thought she was pregnant and kept "pyscho" me to prepare me for B2. Of course, that also meant that Momi was reluctant to carry me around and offer me piggyback rides. Sigh, I was going through a bit of transition myself as I would be turning 3 in a couple weeks' time. I was clingy, irritable and very very emotional. Everytime Momi rejected me, I would cry and self-induce vomitting... headache right??? Now that Momi is confirmed not preggie, she is able to carry me more often that that soothed me a little.
