Problem Sleeping

I was unable to sleep well last Thur and Fri... so poor thing....

Had a bit of runny nose which turned to a stuffy nose on Thur night, couldn't breathe well and was jotted awake and crying hard as I couldn't breathe properly. All the crying and wailing made me gagged and threw up on the mattress and on poor Nai Nai... Had phlegm in my throat, and threw up my dinner and night feed... ended up Momi had to carry me for a good 1 hr before I allowed myself to be placed down on the mattress to sleep. I was cranky and difficult to please. I could sensed that Momi sat down while carrying and would kick up a good fuss about it.... Even though I finally agreed to be put down to bed, I would still wake up every now and then and cry cry cry and made Momi carry me again....

The next morning on Friday, I was taken to the Polyclinic to see the doctor and assess if I could go for my booster jab despite the runny nose. It was a terrible experience and I refused to be touched by the doctor and the nurses. Yeah, the memories of the visit to the eye specialist are still fresh in my mind. I screamed and protested the moment Momi seated me on her lap. I knew what was going to happen when the doctor approached me. Yah, I was un-cooperative throughout the examination. Jab was postponed for a week and medication was prescribed to treat my leaky nose. The visit was traumatic and I did not sleep well again that night. I would wake up crying and cling on to Momi like a helpless little chimp. Nothing soothes me and I protested when Momi sat down while carrying me. I refused Dadi's arms, preferring Momi instead. Momi had to stay awake and talked to me throughout the early morning.

Poor Dadi and Momi!!! They were so tired the next day as I was such a fuss throughout the 2 nights. Guess the visits to the doctors were traumatic and they affected my sleep. Hopefully I would get over the terrible experience and sleep well tonight.... Sheesh!!!!

Baby See, Baby Do

Notti Momi received this cartoon and found it very amusing. She decided to post this in my blog as it depicted what I am doing nowadays. Just like the BB lion which uses the shower shield to double up as the mane and imitate the Papa lion, I am also doing the adults things nowadays after observing them doing those stuff everyday.

Hee, every day is an amazing day. For me and for everyone around me. We just need to take some time to stop, reflect and give thanks to every little good things that are happening to us and around us. Let us not take things for granted and learn to appreciate the goodness in the everything. ;)

Playmobil

The last update on the visits to the Eye Specialist was a bit depressing lah, especially to Momi dearest. So, I would like to take this opportunity to showcase Dadi's prized playmobil sets so that u readers could understand the temptations for me to lay my little hands on these cute little knights and warriors.

Here they are:-
Castle under seige. Knights and warriors battling it out for honour and glory.

Fortress on the pirates' secluded little island. Pirates are armed with weapons to fend off their enemies.

Forest witch sitting in her magical throne in the enchanted forest, surrounded by the animals and a barbarian dressed in tiger skin.

Musik Musik Musik!!!

Haha!!! I have been very entertaining to the adults nowadays. Whenever they asked me how to play the er-hu, I will move my hand to pretend that I am pulling the bow of the er-hu. Notti Momi also taught another action which is playing the gu zheng, i.e. to move my hands over my tummy and go "tren tren tren"... haha, a bit lame lah, but I obliged her by doing that whenever she asks me lor. : ) Ye Ye has a spare er-hu at home and he said he would bring me for classes when I turn 5 years old. Wow!!! Seems like I would be learning a lot of things when I turn 5 leh. Momi and Dadi plans to send me for wu-shu lessons so that I could keep fit and at the same time, learn a few moves to protect myself. Hee Ha!!!

Another thing which I like to do now is to pretend to be a conductor waving my hands whenever I hear a music or a song which I like. Hey! I look very professional ok?! Maybe should get Dadi to capture this on video and show to everyone that I have the making of a conductor?

I have also been composing silly songs of my own. No sensible lyrics, just babbling in a rhythm that I like. Hee, last night after my neng neng, I decided to compose my own song with just the word "neng". I just went neng neng neng neng neng neng... for a good 15 minutes in bed. At first, Dadi and Momi just listened quietly in amusement to their precious little composer.... Towards the end of the 15 minutes solo presentation, Dadi got a bit bored liao and tried to make me stop and sleep. But it was difficult to stop me, especially when my inspiration was flowing, I went neng neng neng on and off for a while, before I finally fell asleep. Yah, tired from the singing liao. Hmmm, maybe tonight I should compose something different and irritat Dadi and Momi until their ears drop off? Hee hee!!!

Yipee!!! Dadi's back from ICT!!!

Dadi finally finished his 3-weeks ICT!!! But hor, he had to standby at home on Sat & Sun in case there was a open mob... tsk tsk... then Momi came down with a flu and throat infection on Sat morning. Ended up we didn't go anywhere cos Momi was drowsy from the medication and Dadi need to standby for SAF's call for mob...

Anyway hor, Dadi waited and waited but no call from SAF eventually. So waste time leh!!! Anywhere also cannot go. The plans to shop for my new shoes would have to KIV to the next weekend liao.

Since Momi was not feeling well, Dadi took care of me while Momi was napping. Dadi took out his old toys and played with me. Of course, I as usual, broke off the tails from some animals and snapped the wings off the aeroplanes. Dadi got to patch them back with scotch tape and they look so ugly, but still can play lah. Keke!!! Dadi did not feel heart pain with me wrecking these old toys cos these are not his prized collection. His prized collection are the playmobil sets stored in the display cabinet. But then hor, these playmobils are not totally safe from my grubby hands. Remember I was successful in kidnapping the cowboy on horseback and the wrecking the dwelling of the forest wizard? Haha!!! Dadi better be more careful now cos I have grown taller and learnt how to push the glass panels aside to get the toys liao. ;p

Dadi seems to have put on some weight during this ICT. What on earth did they feed him at camp huh? Thought there was field exercise where the guys were supposed to survive on combat rations? What goes into the combat rations which fatten up the guys??? *scratch head* Guess I would only find out when it is my turn to go for NS and ICT. :p Anyway, Dadi is fatter by a little and his stubble also thicker than usual. He kept grabbing my feet and rub his stubble on my soles to disturb me. Hee, guess it is his way to play with me and show that he misses me. So different from Momi, who is always readily to give hugs and kisses. :)

Dadi also brought me to the playground to play on the slides. Hee!!! We checked out 2 different playgrounds leh. I couldn't slide properly on my own yet, but I can certainly climb up the slide on my fours leh!!! I overheard Dadi telling Momi that I climbed up the slide like a monkey and did that better than sliding down. Next time I will show off to Momi yah?!

Actually, I received a bubble gun from Auntie Geok Ching, but unfortunately, it has some manufacturing defect and would not churn out the bubbles. If not, I would have more fun chasing after the bubbles at the playground. Anyway, Momi would be getting the faulty bubble gun replaced. Yeah! I can play it this coming weekend liao.

These photos were taken when we had dim sum brunch at Orchard Takashimaya. : )

This is a group photo which features us kids with our gramps. See Lisa Jie-jie and me engaging in our own play and ignoring the camera?

This one shows we kids with our Daddies and Mommies. : )

That's me flanked by the 2 Jie-jies who very "vainpot" and pose with their fingers pointing to their cheeks. Sheesh!!! Only girls do that. I'm a macho boy. See my boh-chap look?

Check out this cute little couple?! Haha!!!

Finally!!! The photos are here!!!!

Haha!!! Some of you must be quite bored seeing only text updates in my blog these few days yah? Fret not! The photos are finally here!!! Auntie Rina emailed the photos to Momi and she finally found time to upload them. These are the photos taken during the makan sessions with Nai Nai's relatives from Indonesia. There are the grand-uncles, grand-aunties, aunties and uncles, and of course, the distant cousins too. : )
Ye Ye, Nai Nai and Dadi sitting at the table. See Dadi's face? Yah, poor Dadi gotta one person finish up that huge plate of chilli crabs.... tsk tsk....
That big jie-jie standing next to Nai Nai is Ping Ping Jie-jie. She doesn't really like to play with me because she finds me too young and not fun to play with.... :(
We kids taking a picture with our own grannies. The lady in the centre is my grand-auntie. She is currently staying with Nai Nai for a few days and we always play together. ; ) The other lady is another grand-auntie, who is also Lisa Jie-Jie's Ah Ma (Grandman).

That's me with my dearest Nai Nai!!! Hee! I like this picture very much. See that huge plate of chilli crabs in front of us??? So scary hor?!

My Visits to the Eye Specialist

I made 2 visits to the Eye Specialist in the past 2 weeks. I had a fall on 15 Jul morning in the bathroom and knocked my left forehead. Minor fall which I cried only a little bit. However, Momi started noticing that something is not quite right with my right eye for a short while in that morning. The next day, Sunday afternoon, I freaked out Momi when she saw my right eye rolled upwards while my left eye looked straight at the TV. It occurred a few times and it totally freaked her out and got her worried and sleepless over the next few days. She was worried that my eye could be injuried due to the fall. Actually hor, other than that eye-rolling part, I was pretty much the usual cheeky little monkey.

Finally, on 18 Jul, I was brought down to NUH Eye Surgery Clinic for a thorough check-up by the eye specialist. Boy! I hate that place. The nurses were nasty when they pried my eyes open to administer eye drops into my eyes. The doctors gave me toys to distract me but they shined this nasty light into my eyes which was very very irritating. I refused to cooperate during the check and it was difficult to establish what was really wrong with my right eye. The preliminary diagnosis was that there were no injuries to my right eye. The rolling up of the eye was coincidentally detected by Momi after the fall. There could be a cataract in my right eye which causes my vision to be blurry and hence, my eye rolled upwards. Cataract? I also not sure, but I heard Momi asking how could it happen in young babies when it is an old people disease... Anyway, I was scheduled for another detailed checkup by another children eye disease specialist a week later on 25 Jul 2006. I had to fast so that I could be sedated for a detailed eye check. Shoots.

On 25 Jul, Momi and Dadi brought me to NUH again. Had to endure the nasty procedures of applying eye drops to dilate my pupils and drink that yucky medicine which will knock me out. The medicine works like magic cos I was totally conked out in 5 minutes. I was not even aware of the whole eye examination process. I slept almost 2 hours in a stretch and woke up with an eye patch over my left eye (which Momi calls the 'good' eye), which I tried to peel off several times.

Here's the part which I missed out but updated by Momi:-
Dr Ganga did not find any eye injuries in my right eye. There was a clouding in my lens, meaning that I have a congenital cataract. He sees about 15 to 20 young patients who are born with this eye condition each year. For my case, my right eye vision is poorer than my left eye due to the cataract. The rolling up of the right eye could be a reflex action tiggered by the brain as the vision on the right eye is poorer and the brain is signalling to rely on the left eye for better vision. If this is not correct, I could have "lazy eyes" in future, meaning my right eyesight would deteriorate as I rely more on the left eye to see.
This problem can be corrected by surgically remove the cataract, but I am too young to undergo surgery now. For the time being, I am required to patch my good eye (the left eye) 4 hours a day during my awake time to train my right eye not to be lazy.

I do not really like the eye patch cos it is irritating and it blocks my vision. I managed to peel it off a few times. Momi said it is a matter of getting used to it. She tried to entice me with TV programs to wear the eye patch. Dadi also got me a stylo black eye patch to wear and tried to play "pirates" with me. I'm supposed to be this nasty one-eyed Pirate Rara....but....but... it didn't quite work. Haha!!!

Anyway, today is Nai Nai and me and she has been tasked to stick that eye patch on me. Do u think it would work? Haha!!! Of course not lah! The old people don't believe in this eye-patching. She kept asking Momi how could I have developed a cataract in the first place.... See how lah. I have another dreaded appointment with Dr Ganga in 3 weeks time. In the meantime, I would have to engage in continuous battles with Momi and Dadi with the patch eye session each day... Don't think Momi and Dadi would be lenient like Nai Nai. I have to prepare myself for an eye surgery lah. :p

New Games Played by Momi & Me

Momi and I have came up with a few new games over the past few days. Here's the list:-

1) Pretend to be animals
Momi and I had loads of fun pretending to be animals, such as elephant, kangaroo and crocodile. We would stomp our feet loudly and sway our bodies side to side to move like an elephant. If its a crocodile, we would put our arms together, spread them apart and put together again and make the sound "chomp, chomp, chomp!!!". When it's time to pretend to be kangaroo, we simply jump up and down with Momi going "diok diok diok". Hehe!!! Momi's trying to teach me to pretend to be a rabbit with the bunny ears and a bird that flabs its wings.

2) Mr Crocodile
This game is employed when Momi wants me to finish up the remaining of my milk. She will call out "Mr Crocodile" and pretend to chomp down at my milk bottle to entice me to go over and drink my milk. I would go up and pretend to do the same thing and chomp on the rubber teat and take sips of the milk until I finish up the last drop. What a creative and fun way to enjoy my neng neng. : )

3) Somersaults on the bed
I still need Momi's help to do the perfect somesaults. I tried to do on my own but I usually flop to the side before my legs go over my head. Keke!!! Somersaults are fun and Momi usually ends it one of them with some ticklings on the tummy. Keke!!!

4) Wrecking Dadi's Playmobil Collection
Now that I am tall enough to reach the middle tier of Dadi's display cabinet, his precious Playmobils are no longer so safe from my clutches. Last Sat, I wrecked his enchanted forest collection on the left cabinet by kidnapping the forest wizard and messing up his magical treasure trove. In the process, I dismantled the set and sent the marbles scattering in all directions. Of course, I panicked and wailed in distress to SOS to Momi for help. SUPER Momi to the rescue!!! She was fast as lightning, man! She pounced on the bouncing and rolling marbles and quickly gathered them all. She was afraid that I would grab one of them and put it into my mouth, thinking that it's some candy...
Well, I didn't learnt from the lesson at all. Subsequently, I shifted to the display set on the right of the cabinet and tried to kidnap cowboy and his horse. Cowboy was not my target. I only wanted the "Hee Keok Keok" (meaning horse). Shoots! SUPER Momi witnessed the attempted kidnap and went to the rescue of the cowboy. The kidnapper moi received a smacking on the back of my hand and cowboy & his horse were promptly snatched from my evil hands before I could tear them apart and cause sorrow to poor Dadi...

5) Tap Dancing in the Balcony
The balcony is now my new-found playground. I would go out there and do my cool tap dance on the wooden garden tiles, which gave a nice soft "thub thub" sound when I tap down or stomp my feet.

6) Picking up the Pebbles
The other activity which I enjoy on the balcony would be to pick up those smooth black pebbles and hit them together to produce sound. Sometimes, I would spend so more effort and time to squat there and slowly pick and choose that I really look like those aunties selecting fish or vegetables in the market. Keke!!!! Usually I would get smack on the hands for playing with the pebbles cos Momi is worried that I would decide to try one of them and kena choked or something like that. Yah, quite dangerous hor.

7) Mario at Your Service
Mario is Momi's new domestic helper. He is young, cute and handsome and he is really very handy with the magical mop. He could spent a good 20 minutes just to clean up the living area. He would protest if SUPER Momi tries to stop him by pulling the magic mop from him. Who is this SUPER Mario???? He is none other than Ramerez Ong aka Mario (Why Mario? B'cos Maid is Maria. Male Helper is Mario lor!!!!)

With all these new games, we sure going to have loads of fun this weekend. :)

Sat Breakfast Date with Auntie Shuai & Yiying Jie-Jie

Momi fixed up a breakfast gathering with Auntie Shuai & Yiying Jie-jie so that we kids could meet up to socialize a bit lah. We are very important people leh. We two are going to extend the friendship between the 2 mummies. Hee!!! Actually, Momi also got a free 400g tin of GainIQ to pass to Auntie Shuai. I dun drink GainIQ. I drink Friso3 lah.

Anyway, by the time we precious tots woke up, drank our milk and finished our baths, it was around 10.30am. By the time we got to McDonald’s, breakfast was over. Shoots!!! I was looking forward to my hotcakes meal leh. Momi offered me a few bites of the bun on her Big Mac, but I was not keen. I was more keen in the corn cup and easily polished off 1/3 of it.

Yiying Jie-jie was not feeling well that day. She was developing a runny nose due to her NEW-MO-COCKLE jab… very difficult to pronounce hor? Think it sounds like that cos I overheard Momi asking Dadi if they should send me for the jab too. Anyway, flu and fever seem to be some of the side-effects of this jab. Poor Jie-jie’s nose was a little red. She also had some rashes on her neck cos she never bathe the day before due to her fever. Poor thing. That certainly reminded me of the last time I had high fever. I shudder to think of that terrible experience.

Although I didn’t get my yummy hotcakes, I got a nice green balloon from the nice McDonald auntie, which complements my minty green pram very well. Coincidentally, Yiying Jie-Jie had a red balloon which went well with her red & grey pram too. All hell broke loose when we two got our hands on the balloons. We were hammering the table tops and our mommies with the balloons and topple the corn cup. Both of us kena chided of course and the balloons were snatched out of our little hands and sort of confiscated (stuck to the prams for swee lor!)...

Anyway, it was nice to meet up with YiYing Jie-Jie and we did do a bit of socialising like hold hands and screamed and squealed together (actually mostly me lah cos Yiying Jie-Jie is very demure and quiet. I'm the loud hailer. Keke!!!). Anyway, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet up and play hor? Right. Momi dearest?

Let's Tok About Some Boh Liao Stuff.....Keke!!!!

Poor Dadi has been called upon to do his National Duty - ICT for 3 weeks starting from 3 Jul. Drats!!! He would only be able to book out every Sat afternoon, which means he would get home in the evening around 7pm cos his camp is in the adults called "god forsaken" place... tsk tsk... very sian. I miss Dadi's company in the evening leh.... I hope Dadi has internet access in the camp and can read up this blog to know how much I have missed him...

I was miserable on Wed evening. I was passing motion too frequently and my pi pi became red and sore. Nai Nai thought I was heaty due to the biscuits that I ate, but my stool was not hard leh. I developed rashes at the pi pi area and it hurts when I poo poo. I cried and screamed in pain and it was such a miserable sight... Yah, it kinda reminded Momi of the time when she had to insert the suppository to bring down my high fever....

Thursday saw some improvements, but the area was still red and a little sore. Poo poo was still frequent... Momi suspected that it could be due to that sip of Yakult that Nai Nai gave me on Wed, which causes my intestines to work double hard to detox and remove the waste from my body. Plus, Nai Nai was feeding me papaya for the past 2 days which well, sort of facilitated the detox process.... hmmm, anyway, Momi told Nai Nai to stop feeding me those stuff and see if things would improve. This also means that I would not get to eat my yummy Baby yoghurt this weekend... double sian liao....

I have been drooling a lot these few days too. Momi thinks that my 2 upper molars could be the culprits as they are trying to push their way out of my gums. Hee, once these 2 little fellas are out, I would have my complete set of BB teeth liao!!! That means I could munch on kacang (peanuts) with Ye Ye liao!!! Keke!!!

Happy ROM Anniversary, Dadi & Momi

5 Jul is Dadi & Momi's ROM anniversary. I wish Dadi & Momi a hapi hapi day... too bad Dadi is away for In-Camp Training so there would be no special outing or whatever. Momi would only have me for company. so sad hor..... But no worries, Momi. I would sayang sayang you on Dadi's behalf. U can sayang him when he comes home this Sat evening lor. Hee hee!!!

Here are some nice nice pictures taken on your ROM day. I'm posting them here to remind you of those wonderful, joyous feelings on this special day when both of you pledged to spend the rest of your lives together.

Dadi & Momi, both of you are the dearest persons to me and I am very very fortunate to be able to share and bask in your love. I love you lots!!! Muaks!!!

One Weekend of Eating, Eating & More Eating!!!

Nai Nai's relatives from Indonesia finally arrived on Saturday afternoon. Nai Nai had been looking forward to this visit for a while. The weekend became an endless process of eating, eating and more eating.
On Saturday evening, Ye Ye and Nai Nai hosted a welcome dinner at the Peng Restaurant for the relatives. It was a nine-course dinner which had Dadi bursting at his seams as he was the only young man at our table and the elders kept urging him to eat more, especially that huge plate of chill crabs. I, a wee baby, could not help him at all as I had my dinner and biscuits before the food was served. As usual, I got bored after awhile and I was put on the floor to explore the place. Of course, I ran amok as there were so many people in the restaurant and BANG!!! I tripped and fell. Yah, it hurted a little and I deserved it too lah.
The next morning, it was my Uncle's turn to host a welcome dim-sum brunch for the relatives at the Crystal Jade restaurant at Takashimaya. Yoh! We were assigned to the table of elders again and Dadi kena stuffed with loads of food again... tsk tsk... this time I got help a bit lah cos I could eat the char siew bao, porridge and glutinous rice lah. However, I rejected the yummy dessert of mango and pomelo bits cos my tummy had run out of space for more food. Hee hee!!!
After the brunch, we went to the Kinokuniya bookstore where I had my bit of exercise running among the bookshelves in the children's section. Momi was absolutely disgraced by my behaviour and plonked me back into my pram. Shoots!!! : (
Before we left Taka, Momi went down to Basement 2 to get some Japanese traditional confectionery for Gong Gong and Po Po as we would be going over for dinner in the evening... Gosh!!! More eating yah!!! Momi had specially requested Po Po to make the lotus root soup for me, so must turn up or else they would be very disappointed.
Dinner was a spread of home-cooked dishes. I chose the steamed rice over the porridge that Momi cooked for me. I ate the spinach and drank the soup cos they were so flavourful and yummy. Momi had to finish up my porridge instead. Keke!!!
