Vroom Vroom!!!

I used to say "ba" whenever I saw a bus. However, nowadays, I tend to go "Vroom Vroom" whenever I sees any vehicle passing by. Momi would sometimes disturb me by asking me what sound the vehicle makes. I would reply "Vroom Vroom" for car, bus, pick-up, lorry, motorcycle, as well as the bicycle. Yah, I know. Bicycle is not "Vroom Vroom", it's "Cling Cling"! Unfortunately, I can't quite pronounce "Cling Cling" yet, so it will have to be a motorised bicycle that goes "Vroom Vroom" for the time being...

If Momi asks for the aeroplane, I would put up my hand and move it in the air. If it is a helicopter, I will try to move my hand a little. I am supposed to move the hand in circular motion and go "tu tu tu tu", but again, I have not quite master the sound yet. If Momi asks for the MRT, I would put my hand up, just like those people standing and holding onto the dangling straps for support. I am supposed to make the "du du du du" sound when the MRT door closes. Again, not quite master that either. If Momi ask for the train, this one I confirm will go "Hoo hoo!!!" which is quite close to the "Choo Choo!!!" which Momi has been teaching me. Haha!!!

Caught in Action...

Shucks!!! Dadi so eng ah??? Invasion of privacy!!! Caught me digging for gold... tsk tsk...

Yums!!! I can feed myself!!!

Momi allows me to feed myself during meal times cos she thinks it is time to train me. Usually, I get to feed myself after I more or less have eaten my fill. The self-feed was just for fun and to get me to take a few extra bites. Nai-Nai has never allowed me to self-feed yet as I would mess up the kitchen. The food sometimes drops onto my body or my lap before it gets delivered into my mouth. : )

The little botak and his little feeding spoon...

Botak and his "maid" - Maria.... (Conk!!! Knock on the head by Momi. Ouch!!!)

Call Me "Nasty Captain Rara"

Yoh! This is Pirate Captain Rara. I have a nasty temper. I would scream, cry and wail whenever I couldn't get what I wanted. Sometimes, I would cry so hard that it induced me to vomit. Yah, so dun mess with me hor...

See my botak head now? Yah, I have a new haircut by Mr Raymond Scissorshands last Sunday again. I didn't quite like the experience and kicked up a ruckus during the process, but Mr Raymond Scissorhands still managed to subdue me cos he had a new tool called a hairclipper.... Hmmm!!! I'm still mad so dun mess with me!!! Try my "Wu Ying Jiao!!!" (Shadowless leg). Keke!!! :p

Hit By Another Korean Wave

Momi has been hit by another Korean wave. She pestered Dadi to buy the "Lovely Sam Soon" vcd and has been catching up with the drama. Momi adores the character "Sam Soon" because she is plump and funny (yeah, so similar to my Momi. Hee!) A little piggy which resembled the one that Sam Soon has was also given free along with the purchase of the vcd.

Here's a special appearance of the cute piggy that appeared in the show.

Here's the little piggy that came with the vcd. I like it very much. I would cuddle it and kiss it on its snout. Haha!!! Momi likes it too and "chong gong" it by bringing the pig to her office. She said it is a lucky mascot. BTW, she also took my chilli crab along with her. So terrible!!! Fight with her little son for soft toys... Tsk Tsk tsk....

Fun Time at Auntie GC's House

The aunties fixed up a makan gathering at Auntie Geok Ching’s place on Saturday afternoon and I was invited too!!! Yipee!!! I can finally go and play with Nicolas Gor-gor!!! Hmmmm…when was the last time Nicolas Gor-gor and I got together? Think it was sometime when we were both 6 months old, cos we were not crawling, but could roll over onto our tummies. Yah, Nic Gor-gor visited our house then and now it was my turn to visit.

Nic gor-gor is tall, close to 90cm and he is only 3 weeks older than me. Keke!!! I look small next to him cos I am only 82cm. Although I am smaller in size, I think I am the bully cos Nic Gor-gor refused to stay in the tent with me. The moment I went in to join him, he would quickly escaped out. Momi said I terrorised him with my squeals and behaviour. I also not shy one cos I helped myself to his toys and his diapers. Diapers??? Yah, Nic Gor-gor cried at one point cos he wanted his mummy and I helped by bringing the diapers to him to dry his tears... haha!!! No lah!!! I brought out the diapers cos I thought he wee-wee and wanted to change diapers lah.

The aunties had a good time playing with us and soaking up our charms. Nic gor-gor is confirmed going to grow up to be the tall, dark, handsome type while I am going to be the cute, boyish, social type. We have no troubles charming the aunties and make them go ga-ga over us. For once, Momi and Auntie GC got their short breaks to enjoy their dim sum. Auntie Cat was literally helping to "look" after us by dumping us with our toys and watch us play on our own. Hiak hiak!!! The aunties were so busy with us that they forgot to take pictures!!! Shucks!!!

HERE COMES SUPER MARIO!!!

Remember that Momi updated you folks that I am such a big kay-poh and loves to help out with the household chores, especially meddling with the magic mop and clean up the floor? Well, here are some pictures to prove to you that SUPER Mario is hard at work. Where else would you find such a hardworking domestic helper who would devote 20 mins to just clean up the floor in the living room? This helper some more don't cut corners one. He would really squat down and clean those hard-to-reach spots under the TV console, sofa and coffee table leh. Kudos to SUPER Nai Nai and Momi cos SUPER Mario learnt all the house-keeping tips from them. Keke!!!

So busy, so busy... no time to bother with Momi, no time to stop and pose for pictures either. Focus, focus. Must get rid of that black spot in that corner...

Finally, got time to catch some breath. Let u take my picture to enter for the most diligent domestic worker contest, K? Must posed with my tool which helps me earn my neng-neng and biscuits leh.

Manja Baby

Dadi took these pictures of Momi and I when we had our lunch after seeing the eye specialist at NUH. Doctor said since they managed to put the patch over my eye, might as well keep it there for a couple of hours. I was very manja in the above photos cos I just woke up after a short nap and wanted Momi to sayang me, while we waited for the food to be served.

An update on my visit to the Eye Doctor

Went for my eye checkup again on Wed morning. As usual, I had to fast in case the doc needs to sedate me for a detailed eye checkup. Met Dr Carol for the first time. She is a nice ang moh lady who speaks with a foreign accent which I can’t quite comprehend, but I like her as she gave me lots of toys to play with. She would place little plastic balls on the floor and I had to go pick them up one by one with my left eye patched up. She also gave me little wooden clowns that bobs and bows and a rotund Police man. She also spun a little gadget in front of me and asked me to locate the little black dot. It was quite fun and a totally different experience from the last visit. : )

After Dr Carol, it was Dr Ganga’s turn to see me. He was quite satisfied with the vision in my right eye and I was praised for being a good boy cos I would keep the eye patch on for a daily average duration of 2 to 3 hours. He recommended that we continue with a review every month, until I turn 2 years old then go for the eye surgery to remove the cataract. I was rewarded by the nice Missy with a yellow smiley heart sticker. J

We went for lunch at Marina Square after the check-up and Dadi bought a hair clipper from Harvey Norman to cut my hair. My hair has grown so long and messy that they are standing up like weeds. Even Momi couldn’t stand it as my hair would tickle her when I snuggle up to her during orh-orh time. Sheesh!!! It would be another wrestling match with Mr Raymond Scissorshands this coming weekend…..

18 months Booster Jab... Boo Hoo Hoo!!!

Momi brought me to the Polyclinic for my 18 month booster jab on Sat morning and I developed a low-grade fever over the next 48 hours. The jab was on my thigh and it began to ache from Saturday afternoon onwards. I couldn’t bear standing on my legs and walking around as it hurt. I was largely confined to my "throne" on the sofa or in my cot where I read my books and played with my toys. Occasionally, I would whince in pain if I moved my right leg a little. I would whimper out loud and ask Momi for some tender loving care by requesting for “bao bao” (carry). Momi had to carry me around as I would refuse to stand and walk on my own. Naughty Dadi would rub the area near the jab to make the ache go away faster, but I would cry out loud as it hurt more. It’s supposed to be for my good lah, but it simply hurt too much.

The pain subsided a little on Sun, but I still had my fever. Momi was not sure if I have any appetite and so, did not cook my meals. I ate buy-back lunch and dinner “da-bao” from Gong Gong’s place. I had some grapes after dinner and wanted more when Momi tried to tuck me in bed at 7.30pm. I refused and signed to her that I wanted to go out by pointing towards the doorway of the bedroom. Momi pretended not to understand and asked me what I wanted. So exasperating!!! I pointed to the doorway again and put my fingers into my mouth to tell her that I want to eat more grapes!!! Is she really that dumb??? So naughty leh! She refused to let me go out and pretended not to understand at all!!! So terrible!!! How can she do that to her poor darling who is having a slight fever??? Anyway, she ultimately relented and brought me out for more grapes. Haha!!! I realised that I just have to dia a little and Momi would usually give in to me. Keke!!! Tested and proven several times liao. : )

Where's the Pig???

Dadi, Momi and I were clowning around on Tue evening, after my dinner. Dadi was calling out "Where's Momi?" and I would go and touch Momi. Then, Momi would call "Where's Dadi?" and I would go sayang Dadi. Then, either one of them would call out "Where's Baby?" or "Where's Ah Boy?" and I would put both hands to my chest to signal that I am. We had this game going for a while and then Dadi decided to be naughty. He intended to teach me to poke fun at Momi by calling her a "pig". He asked "Zhu Zai Na Li? (Where's the pig)?" and wanted to guide me to Momi. Heh heh!!! I very clever boy one leh. I love Momi so much, why would I call her "zhu"? So, when Dadi popped that question, I put my hands to my chest matter-of-factly. Dadi and Momi were so tickled that they couldn't stop laughing. Momi said they didn't teach that and it could be coincidental that I pointed to myself when prompted that question. Anyway, Dadi and Momi decided to try the game again. Whenever they asked "Where's the Baby?" or "Where's Boy Boy/Ah Boy?", I would refer to myself. When "Zhu Zai Na Li?" popped out, I also refer to myself again. It was tested and proven several times. Haha!!! Very funny hor, where got people call themselves "Pig" one? But it is better to call myself "Pig" then to call Momi a "Pig". Dadi is very naughty hor. Momi would try to capture this funny gesture on video to share with everyone. :)

Hairy Business

My long overdue haircut has been KIV for another later date again. Yes, again as Momi was still contemplating if she should attempt another round of haircut for me. As Dadi said, it would be free and definitely more hygienic compared to the barber... but it would be messy and the house and me would require considerable amount of cleaning up after the haircut.

Actually hor, Momi had her strategy one. Two weeks back, I was on medication for runny nose and cough. The medicine was really powerful and I was conked out very quickly. Momi thought of using the opportunity to cut my hair but somehow it didn't happen cos she had so many housework to do and Dadi was not around to help with the haircut.

Nai Nai actually told Dadi and Momi to send me to a barber so that I would get used to strangers doing my hair job. However, Dadi and Momi have this nagging fear that the cutting tools outside would be dirty and they are also worried that I would kena nicked by a careless barber or I fidget too much in the seat. What they fear most is my terrible terrible tantrums which if I have my haircut at home, they would be confined to the four walls at home. Dadi and Momi are not ready to handle a brawling baby spotting a half-done hair job in a public place. Yeah, I agree that it would be quite a scene...Hee hee!!!

Going Door-To-Door

Dadi's leg pain pain over the last few days. He had a stack of pamphlets to distribute to the residents but couldn't do it due to the leg pain. Momi offered to do it for him and off we went on Sunday morning, going door-to-door to deposit the pamphlets cos there was strict instruction that we could not drop them into the individual mailboxes.... silly instruction. Luckily, Dadi was only assigned to take charge of 2 blocks. Heng ah!!!

Momi helped me put on my shoes, held my little hand and we made our way door-to-door. However, she soon found that I was more a hindrance than a help as I would wander all over and paused to check things that interest me. We only managed to cover 1 floor and she changed her strategy. I was put into the sarong sling so that she could carry me and complete the task faster. She also figured out a efficient way to deposit the pamphlets quickly and quietly without disturbing the residents.

Although I was comfortably tucked in the sarong, I still helped Momi a bit by pressing the button for the lifts. The first block was quite fun as Momi would play the counting game with me as we descended from the top floor to the ground floor. By the time we finished the first block, Momi was actually feeling the strain at her shoulders and we took a break at the playground where I was given a few minutes to roam around and play on the slides. I enjoyed myself so much that I decided not to "zor gang" (do work) and refused to leave the playground. Momi had to pretend to walk away without me, then I guai guai followed her.

The second block proceeded quite smoothly, except that Momi got the attention of some "kaypoh" aunties who simply stared at us, thinking that Momi was distributing the pamphlets to earn some extra income and that she was so poor thing as she was carrying a young child with her. Haha!!! Momi boh-chup them and carried on with her job. I also got a little restless as I was growing sleepy in the sarong sling which was so warm and comfy. I certainly couldn't be bothered with the kaypoh aunties. Hee! I also didn't help Momi to press the lift buttons in the second block as I got bored with the repeated task. Haha!!! Fortunately, the pamphlets ran out when we were half-way through the second block!!! Heh heh!!! Boh-bian mah, not our fault. Who asked the organiser to give insufficient copies? Heh heh!!! Momi quickly brought me to buy lunch and we proceeded home for my lunch and afternoon nap, just before the light drizzle set in. : )

Announcement!!! I have officially weaned off my pacifier liao!!!

Hear Ye!!! Hear Ye!!! This is an announcement that I have officially weaned off my pacifier (also fondly known as tu-tu) approximately 7 days ago, i.e on 28 July 2006. Well, it just sort of happened, after I chewed up and tore 2 of my fond tu-tu buddies last week. I spat the torn tu-tu out of my mouth during bedtime and Momi decided that it was the golden opportunity to wean me off the tu-tu. I actually slept pretty well without my tu-tu buddy over the past few nights. However, Nai-Nai would still pop the tu-tu into my mouth during my day naps despite that Momi had informed her that I no longer require it... But that was only for a couple of days lah. Wef from yesterday, I am now able to take my day naps without the tu-tu liao. Hee! I am now a big boy.

Dear Tu-Tu,
Buddy, I would never forget you. Thanks for offering me comfort when I was a wee baby. Here are some pictures to remind us of our good friendship. U have been a great companion to me.

Boring Weekend.... Zzzzz....

Boring boring weekend.... it was raining on and off over the last weekend. I hardly went out to play at all. My faulty bubble gun was replaced but it just laid idle on the table... sigh... When would it be cool and shady so that I can go down and catch the bubbles at the playground????

Of course, I also had to put up with the daily 2-3 hours of eye patching to train my right eye. Well, I still dun quite like it but I can put up with it provided that there are activities to keep me busy and keep my hands off the eye patch. Clever Momi deployed all the toys, books and any other creative and useful things (such as the magic mop) to keep me busy. She plans to get me a couple of Hi-5 CDs to keep me occupied. Of course, Momi also sayang me by indulging me in a few luxurious tub baths lor. Yeah! I miss those good old days when I was a wee baby and got to enjoy those tub baths. Ever since I could stand and walk pretty steadily, I have been having showers instead of tub baths. Yeah! Of course I made good use of these rare opportunities to stay as long in the tub as possible. When Momi tried to lift me out of the tub, I would scream and protest. She would put me back and I would soak and soak until the water turns almost cold and my fingers and toes grow wrinkly, then she would pluck me out again (of course against my wish lah! :p)

We finally caught up with our shopping spree, or rather, MY shopping spree!!! Haha!!! Heard Momi lamenting to Dadi that they seem to be shopping and shopping for me nowadays, instead of for themselves. I got a new pair of sandals, some clothes (incl a really big, long-sleeved top that can double up as a pullover), a new water tumbler and a new feeding spoon. Keke!!! Dadi and Momi wanted to get me an inflatable water-cum-ball pool which they thought it would be nice to place in the balcony for me to play and splish-splash in. However, they decided not to purchase it cos the packaging originally indicated that the set included 100 balls, but a sticker stating 50 balls was pasted over the label. Dadi said the store cheat people of 50 balls so he didn't want to buy liao. Keke!!! Yah lor!!! How can cheat customers like that one?! No integrity!!! I support Dadi's decision to give the pool set a miss. : )

Dadi helped out at a carnival on Sun morning, manning some games booth. The place was a bit out-of-the-way and thus, Momi didn't bring me down. It sounded like loads of fun and I was kinda disappointed that I couldn't go. Maybe next time? Heard Auntie Sharon would be helping out at another Carnival on 13 August somewhere near Hougang Mall... hiak hiak....
