Loads of LRT Rides and Shopping With Our Eyes

Momi is running out of ideas to make me keep my eye patch on. I would peel it off at the very first available opportunity. She figured that one way would be to bring me out to the playground or go gai-gai to distract me because the moment I get back into the house, I would immediately peel off the eye patch. Poor Momi! She had to bring me out over the last weekend and walk around for at least one to two hours, just to get my eye patched.

On Sat, Momi brought me shopping (with her eyes cos she could not go into the fitting room with me and my pram :p) in compasspoint for a good 2 hours on Sat. Of course, I also get to shop with my eyes as I could indicate to Momi what I wanted, but she would not pay for them. On Sun late afternoon, I was treated to 3 rides on the LRT loops in Sengkang, followed by more shopping with the eyes and then da-bao lunch. On Sun evening, I went gai-gai in the nearby parks and even went to the bus stop to count the buses!!! Haha!!! I would protest when I was not allowed to board the buses. Well, Momi just promised me that she would bring me for bus rides next time... Hmmm...Looks like Momi would really bring me for bus rides next weekend to Woodlands cos she checked out the bus routes liao. : )

My First Visit to the Zoo

The initial plan was Dadi, Momi, Gong Gong, Po Po and I go to the Zoo together on Sun. However, Dadi's knee still hurts and Momi got Jiu Jiu to come along for the trip. Poor Jiu Jiu, who helped out at a friend's wedding on Sat, had to wake up early early on Sun to bring us to the Zoo. Momi had originally wanted to cancel the trip but she was afraid to disappoint Po Po and Gong Gong cos it is their first Zoo outing with me mah. Plus, I am so noisy and naughty in the house that Dadi could not rest properly... Sheesh, ended up she decided to bring me to the zoo and to patch my eye during the trip, hopefully I would be distracted by the sights and happenings and do not peel off the eye patch.

Well, I do like the zoo. Hmmm... not that keen in the animals lah. Momi and Jiu Jiu pointed out all sorts of animals, especially the monkeys and orangutans, along the way, but I hardly paid much attention. They were all high up in the trees and my neck grew achy from lifting up my head and trying to catch them in action leh. I was, in fact, more excited with the crowd and large open spaces for me to run about. It was a right move to ask Jiu Jiu along cos he was literally chasing me around. Hiak hiak!!! I love the tram rides and train rides as I would sit quietly and take in the sights along the way. I also love the wading pool at the children's playland but too bad, Momi did not bring my swimming wear and I could only play in the pool for a short 5-10 mins as it was windy and I was getting soaking wet. Of course, Momi also got wet as she waddled into the water with me, with her jeans folded up to the knees (like an auntie). Oh, I also love the swings and slides at the playground. I even attempted to swing myself on the swing.

We also visit the children's animal land where we took the choo-choo train ride. The place was pretty run down with some pathetic animals. There were some ugly black pigs with lots of wrinkles on their bodies and they smelt bad. In fact, the whole place smelt bad. The only creatures which I like were the horses, mini horses and ponies. Momi told Jiu Jiu not to bring me near to the fencing as she did not want me to touch the animals nor the fencing. There was a wading pool there as well, but it was poorly maintained and the water channels were littered with leaves and overgrown with algae. There were only 2 kids playing with the water. Jiu Jiu brought to see the hamsters, mice and chicks. Hee hee! I took the opportunity to teach my Jiu Jiu the letter "M" when I saw the word "MOUSE" on the display. We also saw the naked Mole-Rat and Momi developed the goosebumps as she could not tahan the sight of the mole-rat which has only a thin layer of fur and looks obsenely ugly and naked. Muahahaha!!!

We went for the animal show and the elephant shows, but I could sit still for the show. I was up and running and disturbing the people around. Momi had to pluck me up and bring me outside for a walk. Well, I ran and tripped on the wooden walkway outside the elephant show theatre and had a small cut in my upper lip. Of course got cry a bit lah, but Momi said I deserved it cos I ran. Hmmm... I do have a pouty upper lip for the rest of the day.

We went to see the polar bear during the token feeding time. I was enthralled by the big water tank and had fun tapping on the glass, just to get the attention of Inuka, the big white polar bear. Of course, I also helped myself to Inuka's toys which were on display. I like this toy which consists of 3 plastic balls linked up together. I also like Inuka's icy cold dessert, which consists of fruits frozen into a big ice cube. Cool!!! Wish Momi would serve me something like that!!! The waiting time was long and before Inuka and his Momi got their yummy feedings, I had already fallen asleep. I slept through the 20 minutes introduction feeding and woke up only when everyone started clapping at the end. Shoots! This justifys another visit to the zoo yah?

The animal which really got me interested was the rare white tiger. When I saw the 3 tigers, I told Gong Gong and Po Po "mao" (meaning cat) and I meowed aloud. Momi laughed at me and told me that they were big cats and they roared. Momi imitated a roar and brought me to a console which had several buttons. When pressed, each button would give out different types of sounds made by the tigers, such as purring, growling and roaring. I had a great time punching on these buttons. :)

Well, the trip had been pretty fun and it certainly beats the Jurong Bird Park (Yeah! Momi brought a group of Senior Citizens for JBP outing and she affirmed that she would rather bring me to the Zoo than to the Bird Park). If we do go again, Momi would make sure that I have my swim wear so that I could play long in the wading pool.

Photos?! Well, scatterbrain Momi forgot to bring the camera. Shoots! Wait for my next Zoo trip, ok? Ciao!!!

Ma-Mee Yah!!!

Since Thursday afternoon, I have been calling Momi by a super endearing "Ma-Mee Yah!" instead of the usual "Ma-Mee". Strange, but I only add the "yah" for Momi and no one else. Momi found it very cute in the beginning but got irritated with it by Saturday. She tried to correct me back to "Ma-Mee". She has also been training to teach me to say "Sorry" but not very successful. I would simply put my clenched fists to my cheeks to give the sorry look.

Nai Nai was telling me to call her by prompting me "Jiao Wo" in mandarin. Being the cheeky monkey, I obliged her by howling "Wo! Wo! Wo" instead of "Nai Nai". Muahaha!!! So naughty. BTW, I can say "Bye Bye" now. Hee!!! :)

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Cheeky Monkey has been quite naughty nowadays. :)
Other than imitating Momi in pain by making the "AW AW AW" when she goes "Ouch, Ouch, Ouch", I have been clowning around quite a bit in the house. For instance, I saw Momi pretending to ride a bicycle and I would copycat and pretend to pedal hard on my invisible bike too. Everytime Momi says "Bicycle, Cling Cling!!!", I would move my legs fast and furious, ma-chiam going for cross-country cycling competition.

When Momi asks me to cry, I would put my fingers to my eyes and pretend that there are tears from my eyes while making that "Wee Wee Wee" crying sound. If Momi asks if Teddy is crying, I would put my fingers to Teddy's eyes and make it cry the same way I did. :p

When I am naughty, Momi would order me to face the wall and tell me to "Ji Leng Tie Qiang Bi!!!" (i.e. stick to the wall like a lizard). Ho ho ho!!! I like to do this and I would duly put my palms on the wall and plaster my cheek to the wall like a lizard. How did I know how to tie qiang bi like a Ji Leng??? Learnt from my creative Momi lah. She demo to me mah!!! So, monkey see, monkey do lor!!!! This Ji Leng Sheng Gong has replaced my previous Hai Dai Quen. Nowadays I hardly do my Hai Dai Quen.

Oh, BTW, I am picking up new vocabulary fast. Other than the vomitting sound "Whey Whey!!!" which I picked up from Momi, Dadi and Nai Nai, I have also picked up "Pui!!!" from Momi. Yah yah!!! These sounds are a lot more easy to master and I simply love seeing the shocked expressions on the adults' faces. Keke!!! I overheard Momi telling Dadi that she is going to be mindful of what she says in front of me now. :)

What had happened in the past 2 weeks

Loads of stuff happened in the past two weeks. Ye Ye's house is finally done with the renovation for the kitchen and the toilet. Nai Nai had not been patching my left eye for the past 3 weeks and I have become very resistent about the eye patch. I would peel it off on my own.

Momi dearest had a bad fall last monday. She hurted her tailbone (2nd time injury) and was on 4 days MC. Nai Nai bathed me during the weekdays while Dadi took over on the weekends. Momi tried to minimise carrying me and bathing me to avoid straining her lower back. She tried to patch my eye on Thur evening but I struggled too much and she aggravated the injury. Yah, I was one naughty baby. Whenever she tossed and turned in the bed and went "Ouch, Ouch, Ouch, Ouch!!!", I would also copycat and went "Aw, Aw, Aw, Aw". An unsympathetic little fella, you say?

I had been such an entertainer to the adults in the past few weeks. First, my pool of vocabulary has improved, although I still baby-talked quite a bit. Here's the list:
Day-Dee - Dadi
Ma-Mee - Momi
Nai-Nai - Nai Nai
Ye-Ye Ye Ye Ye... - Ye Ye (I don't stop at two. :p)
Jiew-Jiew - Jiu Jiu
Gong-Gong - Gong Gong
Po-Po - Po Po
A-PLE - Apple
Na-Na - Banana (Haha!!! Yah, it's no more Mao Mao!!! Momi was very relieved. :p)
Plee - Please
Tan-kew - Thank you
Xie-Xie -Thank you (mandarin)
Zhan Xixi - dirty
Bu-Yao - No
Mai - No (Teochew)
May - Quick (Teochew)
Bao - Bun, bread, carry
Xia - Go down
Ku-Ku - shorts and trousers
Sock
Go Out

Sea Shell
Book
Pig
Zhu zhu - pig (mandarin)
Beh Beh - blanket
Puan - bolster
Man - Superman or Spiderman
Meow - Cat (imitating the sound made by cat)
WOff WOff - Dog (imitating the cound made by dog)
Ma - Horse, Zebra
Ehhh - Elephant (imitating the sound made by elephant)
Vroom Vroom - general all modes of transport on the road
Ga-Ga - Wooden monitor lizard in the balcony, anything ugly and scary, cockroach
Bi - Ribena
O-PHEN - Open

My favourite letters are "C", "O", "M" and "W". I can pronounce the first 3 letters, but everytime I sees "W", I would say "M". "M" is my favourite letter cos it stands for "McDonald's". Hiak hiak!!!!

When Momi was at home on MC, she would disturb me by getting me to call her "Ma-Mee" cos she finds it so endearing to hear it from my mouth. Dadi?? Dadi was happy to hear me finally calling him but he said the way I called him was too "dia", too "manja". You adults so troublesome... tsk tsk. Dun call you, you worry. Call you, you said I too "dia"... Enjoy my "manja"-ness now cos I will outgrow this phase soon. : )

I have taken some pictures over the past 2 weeks but Momi has no time to upload. Hopes she finds the time to do it soon. BTW, I would be paying a visit to Dr Ganga this Thur. See what he has to say this time. We would also be going to the Zoo this coming Sun, together with Gong Gong and Po Po. We would take loads of pictures and show you ok? Boy, so exciting!!! My first trip to the Zoo!!! Can't wait for Sun to arrive. I would get to see "Ma Ma" (Horse and Zebra) and "Ehhhh" (Elephant) and HIPPOPOTAMUS!!! I always laughs at Momi when she says the word HIPPOPOTAMUS cos it sounds funny. : )

Mr Smelly Feet

Haha!!! Paiseh Paiseh huh, but this update was decided by Momi dearest, not me hor. She cannot understand why Nai Nai allows me to wear shoes without socks. First thing, she thinks that I look like an lau ah pek (old man) when I wear my shoes without socks. Secondly, without socks to absorb my perspiration, my feet would be smelly if I wear the shoes for too long. Like Monday lah, Momi took off my shoes and detected an unpleasant smell. She called me "Smelly Feet" and ordered Dadi to bring a basin of water and my bottle of shower gel to wash my feet in the room. I was treated like an "Ah Xia Gia" with my maid washing my feet before bedtime. Of course, I got naughty and kicked my feet in the water and ended up making the floor wet lah. Of course, my shoes also found their way into the bucket where Momi gave them a good wash and scrub to remove the unpleasant smell. They are now having a nice tan from Mr Sun at the window. :)

Sigh, now I have all sorts of unglam nicknames. Frankly speaking, what is the big deal about "Mr Smelly Feet". I have heard of babies with nicknames that are worst, such as "Smelly Fart".... Ho ho ho!!! Compared to that, "Smelly Feet" is not that bad lah. As Momi currently controls the access to my blog, she can update anything she wants. Nevermind, when I can update my own blog, I will delete this update away...
