Mr Tong

Momi has been so appalled by my huge appetite. I could eat my dinner at around 7pm or 7.30pm (standard serving consists of a small bowl of rice, 3-4 slices of fish, 2-3 pcs of toufu, 1 spoonful of veggie and 1 small bowl of soup) and then ask for supper at 9pm to 9.30pm. Supper must be at least 1 slice of bread and 1 cup of milk. Sometimes, I ask for 2 slices... If I do not get my desired serving, I will nag at Momi before bedtime. Something that goes along the line "I'm so poor thing... got nothing to eat", "So hungry, not enough for me... so poor thing"...

Momi says I made her out to be a mean mother who deprives her kid of food and she has crowned me the name of "Mr Tong" - "La Ji Tong". Everything I ask for snacks or food after my proper meals, I would get the title thrown on me....

Three's a crowd

I must agree with the saying that "3 is a crowd". The train bound for Punggol was jammed packed that evening. Only 1 lady was kind enough to give up her seat cos she was dropping off at the next stop (Dhoby Ghaut). Jovan, Fion and I tried to squeeze us into a pathetic seat. So cramped... in the end, the nice lady next to us offered Fion a seat on her lap. So lucky her, she got the most comfy seat. Haha!!! Once we were comfortably seated, the four of us (yes, plus the auntie) enjoyed a nice storybook.

Flexing Facial Muscles

A serial of candid shots where I flexed my facial muscles to give those ehhh... "weird looks" (according to Momi)... Last 3 shots at XJJ's ROM reception at Hilton Hotel. Yah yah, the place where I con him to part with $18 for 2 pieces of yummy cheesecakes. Hahaha!!! Think you should see my "Xi, Nu, Ai, Le" looks. It is ultimate. *wink*

I love "my beauty"

I love "my beauty" (wo-de-mei-ren, aka watermelon) so much that I uses 2 forks to polish off the watermelon cubes from my plate. Thanks, Momi for buying Dadi and I a nice dinner at Akashi. Yums!

Ah Ming Eats Apple

Did I tell you how much I love my apples, especially the apple skin???? Kekeke!!! Auntie HS bought cherry apples for Lucas and me and I absolutely love them. Kept asking Momi to buy cherry apples for me cos they are small, handy (easy for my little hands). I will simply gnaw away the skin and pass the apple back to Momi to finish off the flesh. Yah, u can call me a manual "apple peeler". Hahaha!!!

Sitting like an Ah Ming to enjoy my cherry apple in the school...

Emmm... it's good!!!

Momi, you want some? Let me finish the skin and then pass to you, ok?! *so thoughtful look*

Continue to munch like a hamster.....

Taking off my shoes....
Taking my first few steps on the prickly grass... *ticklish*
Picked a spot on the top of a slope... ready to run down the slope....
1/3 down the slope....
Not enough fun. Back at the top of the slope for round 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and.....

Hei hei hei!!! Got the cheeky look on my face. Hee! Up to some cheeky business again...

Ah-bah then?! Run into the water ultimately on the pretext of washing my feet and subsequently refusing to get out (well, as usual lah...)

Kungfu Panda!!! Hee Yak!!!

While the whole world (it seems) is flocking to watch Barney live somewhere on the island, Momi and Dadi decided that it would be more entertaining (well, overall scoring for 2 adults and 1 kid) to go catch Kungfu Panda instead. Not that I did not bug Momi for the Barney show. I did, whenever the Barney commercial flashed across the TV screen. My folks just figured that it was not worth the money to pay for non-entertainment to them. :p

Kungfu Panda was an entertaining movie. Well, at least I could understand part of it. The panda was a jolly round fellow and pulled out a couple of silly stunts. Well, I actually like the Shifu and Wugui better. The best deal of the day was that Po actually turned up in person at the VivoCity cinema to grace the 1st day of screening. Momi and I took pictures with him and I took the opportunity to scratch his round tummy a bit. Of course, I was generous and extend an invitation to him to come home with me and sleep over in my room. *wink*

Momi has promised that my next movie would be Madagascar 2 cos there is my favourite zebra and giraffe. Yeah!!! I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it. *swing to the groove*

人小鬼大

Mother and Son walked past a bridal boutique, displaying some bridal gowns.
Momi: Wah! These gowns are so pretty! How Momi wish I could wear them!!!
Rara: You cannot wear sexy sexy!
Momi: Why??? (Thinking the kid is going to say Momi is fat or something like that.)
Rara: Wait you wear sexy sexy, I laugh at you how?
Momi: ??????

Momi cooking dinner and Ra playing with magnetic letters on the fridge door.
Rara: Dadi is going to marry another woman.
Momi: Huh?! Why??? You want to have an evil step-mother to "look after" you meh?
Rara: No lah! Dadi marry another woman, then you can marry me mah!
Momi: But I am married to your Dadi. I am his wife and you are my son. I cannot marry you leh!

Rara: No! I want you to marry me!!!

Momi and Ra doing the usual bedtime chat.
Rara: Momi, how old are you?
Momi: 33
Rara: Too old....
Momi: Why?
Rara: Too old lah! 33!!! 31 or 32 is good.
Momi: But I cannot help it. I get older by 1 year as the year passes by.
Rara: No! You cannot get too old.
Momi: Then how to stop getting old?
Rara: You don't celebrate birthday lah. Don't buy birthday cake and don't blow out candles. No birthday then you can stay as 31. 33 too old.... (thoughful look on his little face)

Momi and Ra doing role-play. Ra is Dr Ong, Momi is the first patient of the day.
Rara: Welcome to my clinic. You are the first patient of the day. I am a good, friendly doctor.
Momi: Oh. Ok, thank you. I just need a check-up
Went through the process of checking Momi's heart-beat, lungs, body temperature, throat and eyes etc.
Momi: Doctor, do you give out sweets and biscuits like Dr Chee does? (referring to his Paeditrician)
Rara: Erh... No. This clinic is for animals. (with a straight face)
Momi: (gasped) huh?! I am not an animal! I dun want to see a vet!!!!
Rara: No lah! Ehhh, I don't have biscuits, but I have many pictures of animals.
Momi: -_-!!!

A song to touch your heart...

"Sunshine and love be with you
In rainy days I shall be with you
Love is no fool
Dreams come true
I'll always be with you..."

Haha! This song was drummed into me when I caught the 7pm hongkong drama about "Ah Wang". So, I simply sang out this when I was playing by myself at home on Saturday. Momi overhead me and quietly listened and was pleasantly surprised that I could belt out the words quite clearly. Haha!!! I got a good round of applause and gamely belt out round 2. Hope this song touches your heart too. :)

Muahahaha!!!!

Miss me? Here's a photo of me donning the fireman helmet when I visited the Yishun Fire Station. Will upload more pictures when Momi is free, ok? Bye!

My long break

Hi, folks. Did u miss me? I have been on a long long break and been away from school for almost 4 weeks. Nah, not kena HFMD lah. Was done with bad bout of flu 2 weeks before my scheduled surgery and doc told Momi to keep me away from school so that I do not catch any nasty viruses. Then on 28 Apr, I went for my surgery to remove my cataract....

I am currently resting at home with Dadi and Momi cos I am required to wear an eye shield to protect my eye and to administer eye drops every 2-3 hours intervals so that I do not catch any infections. Well, I am recovering slowly amist restrictions such as no jumping, no skipping, no bending over, no rough play, no rubbing of eyes and no crying (esp after eye drop is administered). Oh! And no swimming in 6 weeks' time.

Well, I will be going back for my 3rd review tomorrow. Keep u guys posted. Adieu!

My Very Own DIY T-shirt

Spent my afternoon bonding with Momi dearest by adding design to my old white T-shirt. Momi wrote my name in black at the back of my T-shirt and asked me for my favourite number. I told her "46" and requested it to be in purple ink. Tadah!!! Here is my T-shirt, as seen from the back. Momi added a shiny star as I am the star mah! I added the finishing touch by printing little red hearts at the bottom of the number 46.

If you pay enough attention, you will see that there is a brown smiley face on my left sleeve and a bright ble seahorse on my right sleeve. At the front of my T-shirt, my little red bear was allowed to remain intact, but I added some details at the bottom of the T-shirt by printing little hearts, spirals, flowers and dolphins in cheery pink, orange, blue and green. *wink*

That's me donning my DIY T-shirt. Hee! I love it. Must bring it to school to Show-&-Tell tomorrow. Ms Begum said she will be displaying our DIY T-shirts in class. Can't wait to see what my chums have come up with.

Hee! Posing for a shot with my personal photographer after the photo shoot.

Love Song for Momi and Dadi

Learnt a new song from Ms Begum and decided to surprise Momi by belting out the following:
"Mommy, Mommy. I love you.
You know that I really do.
And I know you love me too.
So I sing this song for you".

Haha! You should have seen the look of awe and surprise on her look. Hee! She was so happy that she appeared to be on the brink of weeping with joy. * Halo appeared over my head*

My reward? A nice big hug and a praise on "great song!" for me. Yap, a perfect rendition with precise lyrics and pronounciation. No mishaps about that.

Then, Momi asked "What about Dadi?" and asked me to sing the song for Dadi. Piece of cake, man! I just switched lyrics to
"Daddy. Daddy. I love you.
You know that I really do.
And I know you love me too.
So I sing this song for you".

Haha, then the song was extended to Ye Ye, Nai Nai, Baby (referring to my good self), Gong Gong, Po Po, DJJ, XJJ and XJJJ.

I Miss My Dadi

Dadi flew off to USA - New York and Boston on Sat nite. Momi and I sent him off at the airport at T3. Was kinda hoping that he would be catching an A380, but it is the usually Boeing 747. Not bad lor, he would be transiting at Frankfurt airport and I have indicated to him which playmobil I want liao. The rest is up to him.

It could some psycho-ing by Momi as I do not want Dadi to go for this trip. I have been asking him to give this trip a miss and stay at home with me. Yah lor, he is going alone without us. How can? Hiaz...

Anyway, to make up for it, Momi allowed me to hang around in the mega T3 after Dadi checked into the departure hall. Haha!! After Dadi checked in at 10pm, Momi and I hanged around until 11pm. What did we do? Loads. We checked out the Chocolate Factory, Bengawan Solo, Cocoa Trees, Supermarket, Food court etc. Basically, all the food outlets there. Love the NTUC supermarket in basement as there is a small lego corner for the kids to play while the parents shop in peace.

When we got home, I refused to sleep and asked for Dadi again. Momi estimated from the time and told me that Dadi's plane should be flying off around that time (nearing 12 midnight) and I could not call Dadi as his handphone would be shut off. Hiaz... Momi chided me for taking Dadi for granted and reminded me to make up for it by giving Dadi a big hug and kiss when he gets back next Sun morning.

One Day Educational Tour

Momi brought Gong Gong, Po Po and me for a day tour to local farms and fire station on Sat. Dadi couldn't join us cos the country needs him to be on stand-by for NS mobilisation. Anyway, heng ah! Cos when Momi went to get the tickets, there were only 3 left. I was kinda exempted so long as I sit on Momi's lap during the bus ride.

Anyway, here is the itinerary for the day
8.45am - Meet at CC
9.30am - Yisun Fire Station
11.30am - Hays Goat Farm
12.30pm - Lunch
2.00pm - Qian Hu Fish Farm
3.00pm - Vegetable Farm

This is my first proper visit to the fire station and I am ecstatic. Not only do I get to see all the vehicles, I get to be ON them and get a first hand feel of these vehicles!!! Hiak hiak!!!

I went onto the pumper, fast-response fire bike, ambulance, paramedic bike and of course, my favourite - the doorless Red Rhino!!! Super Duper cool yah!!!

I tried out all the helmets - (a) Commander's cool white-and-gold helmet - Super Stylo; (b) Fireman's orange helmet, and (c) Rescue officer's white helmet. Naturally, I also insisted that Momi tried them out as well. :)

There were 3 NSmen gor-gor who asked me if I wanted to try the various types of water hoses and water guns. Being that lousy scaredy cat, I refused lah cos that was cold water leh. Yah lor, and I stoopidly ask them for hot water somemore. Haha!!! Yah lor, where got people put out fire with hot water???

One of the highlights was a demonstration on the super water gun that can pump out a single shot of 1 litre of water everytime to create a mist of water vapour to douse the fire. It went off with a loud "POMP!!!" and I had to cover my ears. That was truly a super water gun. I like!

Of course, another highlight was the firemen's demonstration on their fast response time in the event of a fire alarm. They would cling on to a pole and slide down so quickly lor. Not pole-dancing lah, dummy. Slide down so that they dun need to waste time taking the stairs! There are 2 styles some more. One is American style, i.e wrap both arms and legs around pole and slide down. The other is Singapore style, wrap only one arm and one leg and slide down. I think the Singapore style is more stylo. I love the demo so much that at the end of it, I refused to go away. Instead, I stood at the bottom of the pole, looked up and kept shouting "Anyone coming down? Anyone coming down now?". Hey hey!! So pai-seh!!!

At the end of the visit, I got nice souvenior key-chains (in the design of an ambulance) and a comic book on fire prevention and safety. Hee, really education right?

Next was the goat's farm. This is actually my second visit in this month. Just went with my classmates last week on the 13 Mar, so I think some of the goats could still remember me cos they sniffed me out and ate from my hands!!! Haha!!!

Momi bought a packet of alfafa so that Po Po and I could feed the goats. Po Po and Momi are quit lousy lor, dun dare to feed initially. Me? Aiyah, I am so pally with the goats liao. In fact, I went "mum mum mum" and "meh meh meh" when I fed them. Kinda silly but cute lor. I especially love feeding the baby goats. Some of them preferred to sleep and I tried to cajoled them to come over for a bite by doing the "mum mum" and "meh meh" sounds. I tell you hor, some of the older goats are such fussy eaters. They sniffed the alfafa from my hand and rejected it cos it did not have leaves on it. Instead, it decided to chomp the younger alfafa (with leaves) offered by other kids... hmmmm. See, that's why i prefer to feed the babies. They are less fussy.

When I was feeding the goats, I kept telling Momi that my Nai Nai loves "yang meh meh". How I wish I could bring one "yang meh meh" home to give to Nai Nai...

What about my grandparents? Haha!!! My Gong Gong couldn't stand the smell and made a quick exit to rest outside. Po Po soon went after him after a few attempts to feed the goats. That resting area was for us to take a break and get some refreshments. Momi took the opportunity to buy 5 bottles of chocolate goat milk to lug home for me. Of course, I must also drink some milk there lah before we proceed to the Hawker Centre for lunch. My stomach is getting empty leh.

Lunch was at a hawker centre at Choa Chu Kang. Nothing fantastic, the usual fish slice E-mian for me. Yums!

Next, we proceeded to Qian Hu to look at the different types of fishes. I recognised some of them as Gong Gong and Ye Ye keep fishes at home. One of my favourite was the dark showroom for giant arrowana fish. So many of them in different colours - Red, gold and silver. I also love the fat and giantic goldfishes. Each one of them are bigger than my 2 fists put together. The best part is, there is a tank full of big-bellied goldfish and I kept telling Momi that they are all pregnant goldfish.

I also love the fighting fish which their vibrant hues of blue, green, red and purple. In the end, Momi and Po Po helped Gong Gong to pick up 2 fighting fish to bring home - one red and one blue, each priced at $5. I tried to pick one for myself, priced at $2 but Momi said no cos she didn't find it beautiful. She also refused to let Gong Gong buy for me as she opined that it probably wouldn't survive the rest of the trip under my hands. Shoots!!!

Anyway, I love the fish farm so much that I kept asking Momi to snap pictures of the fish until the camera battery went flat. Heng ah, we caught pictures of most of the interesting fish, except for the marine fish... There were colourful guppies, funny-looking elephant fish (spot a trunk-like snout), little fish with chinese characters and numbers tattooed on them (call them 4D fish can?), spotty stringray, flowerhorn fish (luo han fish), mini albino lobsters, crabs and spa fish.

I wanted to feed the fish sama sama what I did at the Goat Farm, but Momi said cannot cos we did not find people sending fish feed at the farm lor. The farm owner is probably worried that we might overfeed his fish and cause them to have indigestion or worse still, die from over-eating. Hiak hiak!!!

Last stop was the vegetable farm. When we went there, most of the veggies have already been harvested. The plots are either bare or covered by little seedlings which we couldn't tell what kind of veggie. Ended up, Momi had to refer to the display tag to tell me that this is kailan, chye sim, nai bai, that is spinach, chinese chives, chinese parsley etc.

The only plant that was flourishing like nobody's business is the aloe vera loh. That plot of land looked like a desert lor.

Luckily, there are fruits hanging from the trees lor, such as the bananas, chilli, papayas, strange-looking melons, passion-fruits, pineapples, dragon-fruits... just to name a few. It was fun as I have never seen these fruits growing on trees. Think Momi was excited to see passion-fruit plants and dragon-fruit plants too.

I asked Momi to show me Cai Dao (long beans) but it seems that it is not a popular veggie to be grown on the farm lor. Cannot find it at all.
Oh, I also spotted plastic bags growing on a tree leh. Din know plastic bags grow from tree lor... hahaha!!! Turned out that was a guava tree and the plastic bags were wrapped around the fruits to prevent bats and insects from getting to the fruits lor.

Momi and I discovered a big birdcage full of colourful birds and an enclosure holding 4 bunnies at one end of the farm. As usual, I squatted in front of the bunnies and told them to come to me. Too bad, it appeared that two bunnies were not in very healthy condition as their fur was falling. Momi forbade me to pat them.

As usual, Gong Gong and Po Po took one trip round the farm and decided that there was nothing much to see cos all the veggies kena plucked liao. Gong Gong - an avid fish lover, checked out the pond in the resting area, while Po Po - avid shopper, checked out the veggies on sale in the farm. Being the typical auntie, she bought carrots, pearl beans, bittergourd, potatoes etc.

Momi spied a chiller containing mango puddings, aloe vera jelly and aloe vera honey drinks and decided to buy some to let us try. Yums! I love the mango pudding and aloe vera drink so much!!! I actually drank 70% of a bottle of aloe vera drink and refused to share it with Momi. I insisted on finishing the bottle, but Momi stopped me as she worried that I might pee in my pants on the trip back. Of course, I was not happy and threw tantrums in the bus, until she hugged and patted me to sleep lor. It was pure bliss to nap for 1/2 hour in the bus, especially when the rain came in and it was nice and cool.

That's about it for my one-day educational tour. Quite a lengthy update yah. There was another small story after our outing, but I think Momi will update it another day. According to her, she will still fume whenever she thinks about the incident. So, stay tuned to find out what irks her so much lor! Bye!

I want my Daddy!!!

It seemed that all the daddies decided to pick up their kids this evening, except for mine... Lucas' dad, choelle's dad, Zoe's dad, Eunice's dad... that made me miss my dad too and I kept asking Momi where was my Dadi.

When we walked past the nearby Muslim eatery, we saw Shameer's Daddy having dinner with Shameer and Auntie. That's it! I kept asking for dadi like a broken recorder throughout the train ride from Clarke Quay to Kovan. I even told Momi that I don't want Dadi to go to New York. I wanted him to stay at home and play with me. Sigh... I have been kinda taking Dadi for granted and only recently realised that... too late, Dadi would be away for one week in USA and he is not bringing us leh!!!!.....

Fighting

Fought with Sean Sean today during the water parade time. We decided not to listen to teacher's instruction to finish our water and threw a couple of punches at each other and pushed each other a bit... hiaz... no winner out of this session cos Ms Chng saw us and quickly separated us and made us sat on the thinking chairs to "reflect" on our behaviour.... Haha! No use lah coz Sean and I would fight again another day. Strange, but we boys can play together and fight each other the next moment. Guess this is friendship between the boys.

Had a bit of wrestling before with Lucas. Lost of course lah. He is much stronger and sturdier than me. I would not pick on him. But with Sean, we are similar in size so I stand a better chance of beating him. :P

Ms Chng feedback to Momi in the evening and I got a earful over dinner when she updated my gramps on my fighting episode. First thing first, fighting is WRONG! I should never fight. Second thing, if I fight, I must fight to win and not get thrashed by the other party.... Momi lamented that I probably was the loser of that fight. Haha!!! Quite true. Dadi ever said that I should not fight, but if I need to fight for a good reason, I should beat the daylights out of the party. In other words, the Ongs should thrash people and not get thrashed. Period.

马屁精

Rara: "Momi is fat fat." (squeeze Momi's arm).
Momi: ...... (stared at Rara)
Rara: "Momi...."
Momi: "Is Momi fat?"
Rara: "Yes!" (innocent look)
Momi: .... (stared harder this time at Ra) ... "Come again, is Momi fat?"
Rara: ...... (Thought hard for a while).... "Not fat!" (and shook his head)
Momi: "马屁精!!!"
Rara: "You call me 马屁精, I don't love you already..."
Momi: "Never mind. I don't like 马屁精 anyway. You don't have to love me.马屁精!"
Rara: "You don't call me 马屁精. I love you."

Why? Why?? Why???

Why do young children love french fries? I don't. And Momi is certainly quite glad about it as I will not fight with her over the fries. Muahaha!!!
